EkweremaduGATE - Facts Circulating On The Alleged Organ Trafficking Accusation...

Former Nigerian Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu and and his wife Nwanneka Ekweremadu are currently in detention in the UK for alleged trafficking of minor for organ harvesting to save their daughter who is critically ill....

They were denied bail on Thursday June 23,2022 and their case will come up again for hearing on July 7, 2022.

Facts on the Ekweremadu matter

1. Ike Ekweremadu wasn't involved in any organ trafficking

2. He has a daughter who needs a transplant.

3. A willing donor was seen in Nigeria and travel preparations were made.

4. Ike Ekweremadu did write to the British High Commission, explaining the situation

5. The donor travelled to the UK with the patient.

6. The patient is a 21 year old man and not a girl as many are writing.

7. He is not a minor.

8. As it happened, the organ did not even match.

9. Not wanting to return to Nigeria, the donor went to report that he was trafficked to London for possible organ harvest, believing same would guarantee him asylum.

From Whatsapp.

  1. When I had the news I was taken aback, they won't be foolish to take a minor, also most time we now the average Nigerian is older than what is indicated in Thier passport, they should have gotten some one way older like 25 with with better frame of mind

    1. First mistake they shld not have used UK; they are over-strict. Shld have gone to India/Turkey....2nd Mistake Shld have used a much older person; settĺe him in millions. A sharp person who knows dis is biz, i need the money, i understand d health impact, no one is takn advantage of me and i will keep it confidential. But then when God wants to catch these ppl he makes them brazen and stupid.

    2. God is not going to delay critical treatment for a sick person. You won't be typing this if it happened to someone you care for.

This guy was going to get paid even if he wasn't a match but he panicked and is pulling this stunt at the expense of a person who is critically ill and in desperate need of a solution. Even if he wanted the world, they would have given him so that they could quickly find a donor that matched. This guy is ready to lie his way into a permanent stay in the UK even if it means the patient with kidney disease dies without his parents by his side. This person clearly deserves Ekweremadu as his senator because he is as wicked as his elected officials. The leadership is gotten from the followership and selected by them through votes.

    3. Anon 19.37 see me see trouble was it my enemy dat put their daughter in her present predicament or im d British Govt that arrested her parents.
If the country wasnt such a Hell-hole caused by this horrid leaders that young man wont have to be so desperate to go that route and betray them(if he did o). But u see just as their daughter is desperate for a kidney so also are millions of poor Nigerians desperate for one and they dont even have the medical facilities or means. I cant feel sorry for these ppl, they have the money, the BRITISH GOVT will definitely take care of Ekeremadus daughter, she may even be a citizen, so i will save my pity for d Nigerians who dont have such opportunities bcos of greedy leaders like Ekeremadu..even all our Specialist and best brains are now out of d country to working systems cos of these same greedy leaders. So save me with the BS

    3. God bless you for saying the above narrative is from his camp. I live in the UK and know how these things work. The NHS will not turn down a kidney donor that does not match. What they do now is to put the donor’s spec in a pool and then they trade with another donor that matches in that pool. It’s like trade by barter with kidney donation now.
The doctors realised waiting for a perfect match was taking too long so they have created a pool for donor and match to recipients. What this means is the above narrative on not matching and unusable is very untrue. All kidney donors are taken and usable simply by trading. The UK government and law is not stupid and the above explanation in court will not hold because it’s not true.
What B&R said is what they should have done but Nigerians are used to cutting corners. They could have used a matured adult that they pay to wiling consent and not manipulate a minor who is a male.
Thank God the British legal system can’t be manipulated like that of naija. Justice will prevail and everyone will pay for their evil. God cannot be mocked.
      Pardon my typos if any.

I even if not a match is fast tracked and placed as a priority to receive any match of the required recipients when a match becomes available. You people should stay informed.

    3. UK does not arrest on hearsay. They usually have substantial evidence before dragging you to court.
    4. When the child left their house why didn't they report him as missing.
    5. Paying for a kidney is illegal in most countries.
    6. None of the girls siblings matched. Or they didn't want to risk their child's life.
    7. UK will put the girl on a waiting list. They could have set up a webpage soliciting for help. Most people who do that get the help they need. Personally I know of one case where his colleague matched and donated a kidney to him
If the picture circulating is true. That boy is a teenager and can't consent.
Paying for an organ is organ trafficking.

It’s not naija that police arrest people anyhow. This case has been on for a month. So investigation undertaken before charging them to court. They should just plead guilty and ask for mercy based on their daughter’s situation rather than trying to prove what is evident the UK law has been broken.

    6. 13:08, thank you. Most of us do not know how the police and the law work.

The police is bound to act on any allegation. They may drop investigation at the station, or may go to court on prima facie evidence, which may be withdrawn, settled where permitted by the law, or prosecuted to conviction or acquital.

Is it possible here that the accused just mishandled the process in the typically Nigerian way and the boy/young man wants to cash out the typically Nigerian way? Only further investigation or the trial will reveal.

Here is not to say the accused man and wife are innocent or guilty of the charges made against them.

    7. 14:49 you know they have not been formally charged right. They are still deciding on charges. They were arrested on preliminary charges. Uk police cast a wide net and then district office makes decisions

  20. This seems plausible, trap Selena shed more light on this on IG, but my question still remains, why was ekweremadu arrested?? Did the hospital alert the authorities because they suspected some kind of shady business? Was the boy indeed a minor? Or did the boy decide to sing a different tune to be granted asylum? We won’t know the entire truth until court proceedings start and until then, the true story is still unclear. Our politicians might be stupid but definitely not dumb enough to attempt to traffic a human being for his organs to the UK. Not like it’s even India or some other shit hole country where something like this can fly.

Did you think they have not investigated this situation. It is alleged that he conspired to procure a passport for the person and in the passport, the donor is supposedly 21. But there is the possibility that he is a minor and was homeless in Nigeria. While it is sad that his child is critically ill, it is still not fair to do things the wrong way. My prayer is that justice is done to all parties. If he is found guilty may he face the wrath of the law. If he is innocent also, let him be set free. 30. I don't believe these facts..
I think the donor doesn't know he was being taken there for organ transplant. That's why he wasn't tested here to see if his kidney matched.

I know our politicians, they are very very wicked, from personal experience, I speak from personal experience. The same people that his noodles that was supposed to be shared during COVID lockdown..

He must have met the young boy, told him he likes him, that he send people abroad and better their lives, told him not to tell anyone and should keep it secret to himself. Na their way be that..

They don't like to spend their stolen wealth wisely, if not with the poverty on ground , alot of people would be willing to donate for the right price, but no, them go dey hide their family problem like say no be everybody get wetin dem dey deal with, that's how they'll go to hospital abroad and be lying about going for vacation.. no be everything done burst open now..

Only God know what they plan to do to the young boy after the whole operation thingy cos they definitely won't want it to hit the news and they are not used to doing things the legal way so there will be no Non disclosure agreement.. that's even if the boy is up to age which o doubt

The boy may be underaged but influenced by family to do this for material gains, then he developed cold feet abroad.
The boy could also have had this intention from Nigeria. Anything to just leave the country. This is also a plausible scenario. That’s why people abroad have to be very careful inviting someone over to visit. They will just ‘miss’ and put you in trouble.
I pray there is justice for everyone. If indeed he knows the boy was underaged, then he should stew in his mess.

  32. Uk was a wrong choice even if the whole arrangement was legit. Some of the questions these health practitioners will ask may even cause the boy to panic and change his mind.

Honestly, there are different possibilities to this story.. The boy may have had a change of mind out of fear or is betraying them to be allowed to live in the UK, this happens a lot.

I doubt any sane person will take a minor to the UK for such a procedure, it is deemed a minor cannot consent. Anyway, metropolitan police, do a thorough investigation.and get to the bottom of this.

  35. Why are we like this? You expect so little, make no demands on the politicians/treasury looters? Do we think so little of ourselves? This guy plus 5 of his cohorts can afford at least $50m to set up a world class Transplant hospital with a kidney transplant surgeon, a heart transplant surgeon + volunteers if its set up & the masses will benefit, not just the looters. That will help carry out at least 500 transplants/surgeries, helping them & THE MASSES instead of stealing scarce $ to spend on foreign economies. Why do the masses look down on themselves with some blaming the boy for "scamming him"? What inferiority complex prevents PMB & Tinubu, fellow looters " from investing just about the amount in one Looter's accounts to set up a world class hospital? Who cursed Nigeria? Many of us here are or know the ones doing the professional things people travel for, why is it impossible to get leaders with a brain? At a hospital I worked here a surgeon can be scheduled to do about 20 such surgeries per week or given period making several per year, all safety protocol by Joint Commission followed to the letter. Nigerian rulers act like nothing good can be done in Nigeria but those outside ARE doing some of the things they waste $ to do. What is so hard about privatizing LUTH/UCH/UNTH etc, having partnerships with good hospitals in the US. Costa Rica has one in partnership with a bUS hospital, like many countries. They are all privately run, not by physicians but as businesses by those with Healthcare Administration or MBA degrees with physicians, several professionals like Biomedical engineers, technicians trained in several different specialties, making sure equipments from Siemens, GE Healthcare, or Phillips among others are well serviced, in top shape & test results are accurate.. Why are our minds so colonized that though we had the world class hospitals in the 70s we can no longer boast of any good ones. Btw, the clinics/Dr's offices we call "hospitals" out of our oversized egos in Nigeria are NOT hospitals.

Who did this to Nigeria? Its not rocket science to set up a world class transplant center but our leaders prefer to tie stolen loot down on overpriced, unaffordable real estate not planning for climate change that ,God forbid may make the entire coastline disappear... omg! Their bank accounts can set up 2 or more Mayo or Cleveland clinic type world class hospitals, convert Lagos to Dubai but they prefer to leave it in western banks, losing most when they die. It's mind numbing. Make demands on all politicians, cronies & the obtuse ruling class, the $amount in their account is enough to stop medical tourism. His participation in looting Nigeria hopefully will not cost his daughter. May God show her mercy.
