The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency seized no fewer than 286 assets and 600 bank accounts of drug barons between January 2021 and August 2022. NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi, who disclosed this in a document made available on Tuesday, said the assets consisted of 249 exotic cars and 37 mansions.

Ahead of the meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party National Executive Committee scheduled for Thursday in Abuja, the NEC members are divided over the clamour for the removal of the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu. The meeting is targeted at finding a solution to the crisis rocking the party.

The families of four newborn babies have been thrown into mourning after they died due to alleged negligence on the part of the doctor on duty at the Sapele Central Hospital, in the Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State. The victims’ families, while lamenting over their deaths, alleged that the doctor on duty was drunk.




-. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has dissolved the corps’ anti-vandalism units nationwide. The Commandant, Ahmed Audi who gave the dissolution order during a meeting with senior officers yesterday, said the action was sequel to insinuations and reports in the public domain that security operatives were likely involved in oil theft.




-. President Muhammadu Buhari has set up a committee to look into the demands of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). At a meeting with Pro chancellors and Vice Chancellors in Abuja on Tuesday, Malam Adamu Adamu, Minister of Education, announced that the committee was set up to revisit the issue.




-. Governor Nyesom Wike says Rivers State under Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rule has learnt enough bitter lessons from showing commitment to garner highest presidential votes to the party during elections and end up not being appreciated for their efforts.





-. About 30 suspects have been arrested in connection with the weekend bloody rival cult clash that claimed three lives and left several others injured in Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State. The Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Catherine Anene, who made the disclosure, yesterday, in Makurdi, said investigation into the matter was ongoing.




-. The Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Alhaji Yabagi Sani, has said that he is not sure if ministers are telling President Muhammadu Buhari the truth on the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). ASUU has been on strike for seven months.

- Tokunbo Awolowo-Dosunmu, the daughter of Nigerian nationalist and statesman, Obafemi Awolowo has alleged of plot to get rid of Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, if he wins the 2023 election.

“They are plotting against Tinubu; Yorubas should wake up. They are aware of Tinubu’s medical condition.

“All they are planning is, immediately after handing over and swearing-in, they are going to get rid of Tinubu and Sheetima will be your next president if you are not careful.

“Yorubas have to wake up and not allow emotions to lead us,” she told newsmen in Lagos.

    The hausas are very cunny and know their way around politics, the Yorubas should watch their back.

  4. I will not stop praying for this country cos truly Nigeria needs help.politicians who are suppose to let the youths lead are so greedy despite their health condition,they still want to rule a country as populated as this

  5. Stella Chelsea have parted ways with head coach Thomas Tuchel as a result of that match and their poor start to the season.

    I’m not happy happy with that decision tho but then as a Chelsea fan I’m used to it.
