THURSDAY IN HOUSE NEWS...

  Hello!

IN HOUSE MEMO

How una dey?.. Where is BV XP? My most hated and loved BV has gone AWOL again... You can never tell with that woman, she might just be in reading only mode...... Aftoroh Sir H is in reading only mode..... *side eyes*

This World cup eh, it looks like a lot of surprises will spring up.. Imagine going to World cup and going into surgery after first match to repair your face? Kai, this is the part of football i hate.. Another is out with Knee injury...

Just my random thoughts...I love watching Football but let me wait until finals for this World cup cos the injuries are too much already...

What are you random thoughts?

BV Onyin, this cute Dog says hi to you ''Mummy Onyin i dont have winch oh,I yam just a dog''

Enjoy the rest of the day!!

INSIDE THE MIND OF A WOMAN GOING THROUGH MOTHERHOOD

When i was growing up, I was taught to refer to all older women as 'mummy' and older men as 'dad' or 'Big mummy' and 'Big daddy' and the much older ones as 'grandpa' and 'grandma'.

This was whether we were related or not. We also added locations to the name, like 'Big mummy America' , 'Big daddy Ketu'.

I remember one day I called a neighbour mummy xxxx. I added her daughter’s name, she was so angry and told me her daughters were older than me so I was to refer to her plainly as mummy.

I would ask my mom why I had so many grandparents and parents and she explained that it was a cultural thing and it was a way of showing my respect for them.

I have kids now and I am definitely not going down that road. If you are not family, the most you would be getting is being referred to as Mummy or daddy your child’s name and that is if you are close to the family.

Every other persons will be addressed by their titles and name, for example Mrs Bolu or Dr Funmi.

I mean no disrespect but I also don’t allow anyone who is not my niece or nephew ( don’t have any yet) call me aunty, not even my sibling that I am almost two decades older than, I go by my first name or Mrs #######.

Someone once argued that the aunty prefix to a person’s name would prevent any form of disrespect.

I have witnessed where someone went on her knees to greet an older lady and in the same breath said “ aunty mi, with all due respect you must be very stupid” while still kneeling.

Abeg I no want any fake respect.....

Hahahahahahahahahahaha A BV mailed me today and called me 'Mummy' in the mail. i responded that my name is STELLA oh and she said it was a form of showing me respect... Abeg i no want oh.....

This thing you addressed is the reason why i dont like people adding anything to my name cos the same person wey dey call you mummy and aunty go still cuss you so dont thing the prefix means anything, it is just added to whine you....

FROM THURSDAY MORNING SPONTANEOUS POST

''Stella please I want to know, can your kids also claim Nigerian, as a child whose mum is a Nigerian? Just curious''

Our forefathers say nah curiosity na em kee the cat. You just wake up begin curious dey ask questions about my Bambinos? As you dey there so, you fit claim Nigerian? LMAO... Please carry your thoughts of curiosity somewhere else oh, i no get answer.

FROM THE COMMENT SECTION

''Please I need help! I'm new to this kinda thing. If you've been friends with someone(I mean girl-girl friendship) for a long time and almost everybody know you both together. When you guys break up and people starts asking about your friendship, what's the perfect response? What's a good response without making either party look bad?''

If they ask you just tell them you dont want to talk about it.....If they push too much and you must answer, tell them she is fine and change the topic.....You will be fine OK?

  1. If you are a TEACHER here, especially those who cater to Creche, Nursery & Primary Schools, I just wanna say y'all are amazing! What you do, is under rated in this part of the world, but you are doing a fantastic job of molding the future of our country, and God will reward your patience and servitude....
To take care of kids, nor be moimoi at all. From me to you, its all love.
    God Bless y'all....πŸ€—❤️

    2. Griot was worth every minute. The casting, nostalgic choice of locations, costuming..infact the entire production was simple and beautiful to watch...says alot about popular producers and names, stealing the creative ideas of young writers in the industry. With little or no reference whatsoever. Wish Tiwa didnt die though...her voice was something else...Abdulateef nailed the emotions! And sanmi's diction was really commendable. Yewande the goddess, Funsho adeolu the thespian! Great Job!

      Delete
    2. Edema that dream doesn't sound good. Your shoes in the dream especially beautiful ones signify your glory or good fortune, it should not be gifted out. I don't mean to scare you but please pray fervently and cancel any negative occurrence that has taken place spiritually.

    3. @Erema, is the person thesame gender with you? If yes, it might not be a good one.
Talking from experience, the two relationships I had before marriage, it was shoes that I dreamt about, ok, let me explain, The first one, I dreamt that I was wearing two different shoes, one was high eel and the other one was flat it was after praying and praying that I got to know about our genotype.
The second relationship too, I had a dream that I was wearing two left shoes, it was not long that I got to know that he lied to me about his genotype, we were both AS.
That's why I asked if it was the same gender, it might be about relationship, like giving out your relationship. I don't know sha

Me, I’m looking for any avenue to get this girl to always sleep through the night in her bed as opposed to our almost everytime ritual of doing half sleeping in her bed and half in ours. Somebody is cutting short my cuddling time. Don’t want next year to meet us like this.

  21. At the funeral service of late Queen Elizabeth, towards the end of the service, I was touched by the Archbishop's last words before the body was taken to the grave for burial.

    He said:

*"Now let us remove all symbols of power from the coffin, so that our sister, Elizabeth can be committed to the grave as a simple Christian* ".

    Immediately,

    1. The staff of office was removed,

    2. Then the scepter,

    3. The crown followed and all valuables were removed.

*The Queen was buried with NOTHING.*

Note that the Archbishop did not include "Queen" to her name at this point too.

Life is indeed vanity. It is transient, and that teaches us humility.

    1. Humility in power,

    2. Humility in relating with others,

    3. Humility in our acquisition of wealth, and

    4. humility in all our endeavors,

    In a nutshell

Because in the end, we will all go back with NOTHING.

    Let it sink deeply!

  42. @motherhood poster,I was also trained to use mummy and daddy for my parents friends and older family members too.
At age four my son was so confused why he has so many grandma's and big mummy's.i simply explained to him that it's cultural although I never forget to tell him about boundaries.
Most new generation parents are intentionally using the right terms to curb sexual abuse and to create boundaries which is fine.
