The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) in Ogun State has threatened to shut down all its outlets across the state over the ultimatum issued to marketers by the Department of State Security (DSS). Reacting to the DSS ultimatum, IPMAN said such policy has failed “in its sense of reasoning with genuine business operators who do not get product from government’s depot to sell same at government approved price.”

Northern Elders Forum (NEF) has confirmed that most people from the region, especially women, were selling their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) to politicians and political parties for a pittance. The group stated this against the backdrop of the complaint by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on sales of PVCs in the country.
The United States government said its goal is to provide adequate support for the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC and ensure a free, fair and credible general election in 2023. The Consul General for the U.S. Mission in Lagos, Will Stevens, stated this on while speaking at an interactive session marking the US-Africa Leaders Summit 2022 at the American Corner in Lagos on Wednesday.

The Senate, on Wednesday, called on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), to make an upward adjustment of the proposed N100,000 per week for individuals and N500,000 per week for Corporate bodies in response to public outcry. The Senate also directed its Committee on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions to embark on aggressive oversight of CBN on its commitment to flexible adjustment of the withdrawal limit.

The National Vice President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Damian Okeke-Ogene, has said all the state governors in the Southeast may vote for the Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate in 2023.
Okeke-Ogene made the remark while stressing that nobody can decide which presidential candidate the Southeast would vote for in 2023.

Niger State supporters of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have boosted his chances in the 2023 presidential election by giving him a massive endorsement to run for the country’s top seat in the forthcoming general elections.
The crowd in their numbers trooped to the Trade Fair Complex, the venue of the flag-off rally of the APC presidential and gubernatorial campaign in Minna as early as 8 am to await the arrival of the presidential candidate.
This resulted in a heavy traffic gridlock along the Minna-Suleja road, a major road to the venue.
