 There was pandemonium in the Ajah area of Lagos State on Sunday when a policeman attached to the Ajah Police Station shot dead Bolanle Raheem a lawyer The late Raheem, her sister, and four children were coming from an eatery in their car around 11am, when the policeman tried to stop them........




She was trying to make a U-turn under the Ajah Bridge when he shot at her vehicle. she was hit by the bullet and rushed to the hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival.
The incident threw the community i
nto confusion as the cop, who was with a team of policemen, fled the scene.
He has however been arrested.

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has assured of fuel availability during the yuletide, warning that it will clamp down on petrol stations hoarding fuel to create artificial scarcity. Controller of NMDPRA in Jos, Plateau State, Abdulsalam Mohammed, said this yesterday.

The Kogi State Government has declared Thursday, December 29, 2022, as a public holiday as the State would receive President Muhammadu Buhari on that day for the commissioning of projects embarked upon by Governor Yahaya Bello. This was contained in a statement issued by the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, on Sunday.

About five persons have reportedly lost their lives in a clash between rival youth groups in Ekpan, Uvwie Local Government Council Area of Delta State. It was gathered that the incident occurred on Christmas eve, as many others have been taken to the Warri General Hospital for treatment.

 A businessman, Dapo Olofinmakin, has accused his mother, Olufunmilayo, of exhuming the corpse of his late father, Segun, in a bid to sell his property on Sanya Street in the Aguda area of Lagos State, where he was buried. It was gathered that Dapo, 47, had opposed the plan by his mother to move the body to another location to facilitate the sale of the building.

 President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, said he would not live in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) after quitting office in May 2023 to avoid problems. While thanking Nigerians for the support extended to him during his two-term reign, the president said he would retire to his hometown in Daura, Katsina State to rest from the rigours of his office.

 Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, has ordered the All Progressives Congress (APC) to pay a fine of N5 million for contravening the provisions of the State’s Executive Order 3 of 2022. The Executive Order 3 prohibits political parties from using public places such as schools, parks, and markets for political activities without seeking and obtaining due clearance from the State government.
