Actress Toyin Abraham Says She Did Not Collect Money To Support Her Choice Of Presidential Candidate

Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Toyin Abraham has responded to those who criticize her for supporting APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu.

Recall that the actress had earlier in January, during a live interview on a popular television talk show, Your View, said she would be voting for Tinubu because she loves him for the things he has done for her industry.

The actress has been called out, insulted, and trolled on social media since her declaration.
Speaking amid the backlash, the unbothered Toyin, during a live Instagram session with actress Kemi Afolabi, said those who placed curses on her over her preferred candidate were wasting their time.

“If anybody curses me or swears for me, it can’t affect me because I didn’t collect a dime. It’s only those that took money that can be affected. I, Oluwatoyin, didn’t collect money, and neither did I campaign for anyone, but we’re having this discussion because this is my country, I’m Nigerian, and I gave birth to my child here.

“Nobody can pay me. I sell my movies in cinemas, I sell them on platforms, I’m making my money, and I’m fine. The point is to choose your candidate, and don’t bully me.”

  1. Our Nigerian celebrities should learn to either answer immediately or let the matter die a natural death , I thought people have moved passed this ? People just need raw cash to stock up and prepare for the election.

    4. You chose to pay for a "shitty" movie and you got to watch it. Fair trade. The cast or crew don't owe you their votes because of that.

After votes are cast and counted, I hope PO's followers realize that their caustic fanaticism cost him the election. The sectionalists now forming one Nigeria, the bigots who are struggling to keep on their poorly glued liberal veneer, the hypocrites who have relegated the poor man into indefensible sainthood. In a few days, they will breathe easy and live in their truth. At least, the other two camps admit they are peddling damaged goods.

Even if your benefactor is his supporter, use your sense noooow.. you don't have to come out to support him. You do that behind. His team has been giving money to actors and pastors so don't come lie that you are not paid

  16. At this stage, I can’t help but vilify any reasonable adult that want to vote Tinubu into office. You and your choice are nothing but the weapon fashioned against Nigeria 🇳🇬 !!!!

  17. You people should stop this bullying, is it by force to vote for your preferred candidate ? Let the best candidate win.
You make your choice, and she makes her own, why the hatred ?
