APC Denies Report Of Secret Meeting In London Between President Elect Tinubu And CJN

The APC Presidential Campaign Organisation has rubbished report that Nigeria’s president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu met with the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Olukayode Ariwoola in London.

The council, in a statement on late Thursday said its attention had been drawn to the grossly fake, misleading and malicious story about Ariwoola disguising to meet Tinubu in London.

The council stated that the story was a pure concoction from the hallucinating minds of hatchet men bent on creating doubts and public distrust about the legitimacy of the nation’s recent election, which was won by Tinubu.

“We refute emphatically that there has been no clandestine meeting between the President-elect and the respected Chief Justice of our country, any where. It’s pure fabricated news, groundless in fact and authenticity.

“To show that the story was a mere salacious fiction, meant to draw traffic to the discredited purveyor, it claimed the Chief Justice left Nigeria for London on 11 March, on a wheel chair to board a plane.

“The President elect left Nigeria on 21 March, 10 clear days thereafter. What kind of appointment or secret meeting will the two men have arranged in London, with so wide disparate arrival dates, except in the imagination of the false news merchants?

“We can confirm that the President-elect, who left Nigeria Tuesday has not been in London. He is right now in France to have a deserved rest, after a hectic campaign that began in January 2022. He will go to London thereafter before proceeding to Mecca for the lesser Hajj,” the council stated.

According to the council, “As we move towards inauguration on 29 May, 2023, Nigerians should expect more false and salacious news from a section of the Nigerian media, on the payroll of the opposition. We urge the media once again to cross check their information from the President-elect media office before rushing to press.”

  1. I saw a picture of the CJN on wheel chair at the airport. That is how they denied having closed door meeting with Wike.
Why will they be in same country at the same time.
    What a country.

  2. APC had the opportunity to prove pdp wrong and try to right things, instead they decided to gravel in whatever pile they created. Leaving trails as they go. 😔

  4. We only get to read a rebuttal when it has to do with APC or Asiwaju. We don't ever get to see or read the main indicting news even if it's an allegation. Journalism ethics and professionalism entails a good balancing in reportage.

Yesterday, the news was carried by the Peoples gazette. We didn't get to read it but today we're reading a rebuttal.

  7. Obidients are really working overtime. I mean...is this the first election in Nigeria? Petitioning everyone. Harrowing everyone who congratulates someone already declared winner? Gosh. You have gone to court. Allow the court do their job. Adeleke just won today. He is not APC

  9. Not shocking. If you still have faith in the Nigerian judiciary I applaud you. I gave up when the Supreme Court gave Ahmed Lawan the senatorial ticket when he didn't win it. No hope o, get ready for a Tinubu presidency.
