LP Suspended Chairman Abure Re-instated By NLC Under Tight Security

The leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, amidst conflicting judgements from courts ;on Monday, led a delegation of workers’ unions to reinstate Julius Abure, the embattled national chairman of the Labour Party...

In doing so, NLC President, Joe Ajaero confirmed that the bright fortune of the party was attracting impostors who are bent on crippling the party by all means, a move he said will be resisted by the working class.

Ajaero also threatened that Nigerian workers might be compelled to occupy the residential homes of suspected impostors, some of whom orchestrated the suspension of Abure as national chairman of the party.

A Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja, had ordered Abure to stop parading himself as the national chairman of the party a week after a ward in the Edo State chapter of the party suspended him over alleged anti-party activities.

Shortly after the court order, the party’s national vice chairman, Lamido Bashir Apapa, who had been accused of being sponsored by the opposition parties, took over the party in an acting capacity.

But in another twist, a High Court in Benin gave a counterorder, restraining anybody from removing the embattled party chairman from his office.

Ajaero, who was accompanied by the NLC General Secretary, Emmanuel Ugboaja, TUC leaders and other labour leaders as well as hundreds of workers, to the secretariat, said as trustees of the party, nobody is mandated to occupy any position in the party without their consent.

Ajaero said: “Today, we have come to say enough is enough. Never again will those imposters enter here, under any guise, under any order. Even if we lose our leadership, we have to meet as trustees of this Labour Party to decide the next line of action.

“For anybody to illegally declare himself either as chairman, secretary or whatever, we urge all workers anywhere in the country, where you see such people, arrest them and bring them to us. The hour has come.”

He also added: “As the fastest-growing party, you can see that envy, jealousy is creeping in. The people that are pioneering this, to sabotage us, let’s announce here that we know your fathers. If you continue this way, we will go after your fathers.”

  1. Threatening statements!

Why are we so careless with our words? This lack of consequences though.......

Are you the police or a police station that you are asking people to arrest others, and bring them to you? If something happens to their fathers and you are invited to the police station, you'll shout witch-hunt!

  2. I thought it was imperative for those looking to be called Excellency to be excellent? Are we now to sit back and watch a perjurer and his ilk continue as labor party heads? Must every prominent LP campaign head go to jail?

For days, baba Apapa has been continuously insulted by cultists who think of Obi as an idol. They insult his looks as an Ibadan man and a practicing Muslim despite this current situation being thrust upon him by the criminality of the exco, a situation he did everything to avoid and did not lobby for. They insult this old man for saving their faces and party from obvious ruin, pronouncing his surname as if it's an area in Lagos and alluding, because of their tribalism and ignorance, that the man who was in labor and never left or practiced anti party politics, since it was formed, is a mole. It is this same McCarthyism that cost LP the election and has pushed it's supporters into Q-anon psycosis. If you can run as VP to Atiku and support GEJ and bring in Obiano as protege, and Datti, someone who stole Senate mandate twice and has IBB as chief launcher if his expensive private schools, bring your shoulder down. You are in no way qualified to list sins or point at people like this former labor leader as anything but upright. Your chairman is even worse than Ayu and Adamu combined as none of them had forged a court seal.

Imagine the so called saints saying that the disenfranchised candidates should endure their victimization in silence because Obi's personal case concerning his own personal election is in court: ask the party held to ransom by a criminal lawyer how one affects the other. Are they not all equally candidates?

This mob is exactly like The Sparrows in GOT. They are a bunch of blindly vengeful and ignorant fanatics beckoning on disaster. They promise a utopia that does not exist, make ludicrous claims without evidence and possess the hypocrisy that compels them to make things worse. We've had enough of jihad in Nigeria. There's no space for another version of same please.
