    2. It's not entitlement. Africans are paying for flights too, it is only proper that flights to or from parts of Africa have one or two movies from Africa too.
If you have flown international, you would know that even the flight attendants are so rude on the last leg of flights into Nigeria or on the first leg of flights out of Nigeria. It's a good thing for more people to talk about it.

    3. If Nigeria is fixed we will be respected. Arts & entertainment alone does not earn a country respect when we cannot make mirror or pencil from the scratch, science and technology do. If the US military had not invented the internet think of how poor many will still be! Science is the backbone of the development of the entire world not music or movies which were ENHANCED by science & tech with those effects we all love to watch!

Her write up is ego driven as she still has a 🇳🇬 passport with a green card, was not treated like those from other countries but still got the treatment all 🇳🇬 complain about. It’s not just about Nollywood. How entitled can our folks be! It’s Turkish airlines not the looted Nigerian Airways! The day a country like Nigeria takes its pride of place is the day disrespect will stop but with endless corruption, youths with warped value system, mediocre governments back to back, lack of population control leading to 71 million of the world’s poorest (11 million children out of school) who will respect us? They watch the news, are on the internet and know we are a people full of “hubris”, no offense, showing off luxury products manufactured by other countries with looted money, not caring about national development, safety nets, good governance, poverty eradication or even using the loot to fund the brilliant but poor ones among us! Nigeria Airways was so good up to the late 80s, they handed it with Nicon Insurance, toJimoh. He finished the money & is back in the senate after destroying both. They know about the $ bribery of delegates, corrupt elections, blatant looting by taking government official cars home after a tenure ends & budgeting for a new one, inflated contracts etc. They have no reason to respect us.

It’s not by wearing designer clothes or carrying purses we cannot manufacture! The entire congress is full of rogues or their children! A country where there are IDPs in millions, that a little sacrifice by the looters can resettle & educate but will not happen cannot be taken seriously. Nigeria is the biggest crime scene outside of war crime zones on earth! We don’t even see crime as crime, we pay tithe in church on loot belonging to the entire community and ask for blessing! Turkish people that help looters in Abuja should respect your passport? Once we make some money in 🇳🇬or live abroad, many act like the ostrich, pretending it’s not so bad & we should be respected. No. 🇳🇬has 71 million of the world’s poorest people out of a total population of about 220m! That’s very high! Nobody cares that your ticket cost twice that of others, it’s the corruption that wiped out Nigeria Airways, caused Naira devaluation etc.The world is not deluded about 🇳🇬 like we are. They may respect you as an individual but they have read so much online that as a country unless the youths say “enough”, the respect for the country is not there. They shake hands with us because the loot is in their countries, helping their own economy while $ is scarce. They know a deputy senate president owns 40 houses without a single hospital worthy of his use, same with presidents & governors who travel for headaches or knee surgery that a hospital here does 300 such per week Behind us they deride us as a people who have no love for each other that to steal county budget for ourselves alone is nothing to us while driving past the disabled beggar whose safety net $ was part of the loot to buy the car! We need moral revival from the youngest to the oldest. Not religion. Start manufacturing, stop conspicuous foreign goods consumption. Control population, 71m of the poorest due to a bizarre defense of polygamy that only 5% of adult males practice in Saudi, and watch respect for 🇳🇬 return. Jesus judges by how “the least of these” are treated, the civilized world too does, but 🇳🇬 middle/rich folks want to be judged by the richest of these. It does not work that way.

    3. 11:09,

Clearly you are not exposed! Please sit this post out rather than sound ignorant.

Africa especially Nigeria and Nigerians is one of their biggest and most profitable markets (esp business class seats).

She is not asking for anything outside an all inclusive and enjoyable traveling experience.

They are not doing us a favour by flying this route.

    4. 11:09, I knew how I was bored 🥱 traveling from Nigeria to Qatar. It wasn't enjoyable as I had imagined before travelling as a first timer.
Considering their African passengers and all she noted, isn't a bad idea.

  11. Apparently, most of the commenters so far haven’t traveled far and wide, so you can’t relate to what she is saying! Until you experience the difference between planes used on the African/Nigerian leg of a trip, then you’ll get it. Also, other airlines have Nollywood movies. Why doesn’t Turkish Airlines recognize an industry as big as Nollywood? It might interest you to know that Turkey is a VERY racist country towards Black people, especially Nigerians. I implore you to read what she wrote with an open mind (instead of spewing nonsense) and do your research if you don’t know something.

    2. 12:17,

Not having travel experience isn't even an issue.

What I find appalling is the flagrant display of ignorance in the comment section.

Not just with this airline post but on so many other posts.

Why can't some people just observe, get educated and try learning new things instead of jumping on every post.

I read someone writing about it being their system. Another wrote that OmoT wasn't recognised and that's why she's ranting. Someone else asked where she's coming from for 40hours?

      Jeez ....

Ladies and gentlemen, it's okay not to comment on every post.
It's okay not to know everything.
      I don't.
      No one does.

What is not okay is your unwillingness to learn and relearn.

    3. Traveling to many countries as a tourist does not guarantee that you are not ignorant of the nuances behind respect of countries or the concept of “La Raza”, for the good of all. Respect is earned by how developed, civilized your country is not how many “looter rich” who can fly business class or PJ you have when 71m of yours are the poorest in the world among just 220m people. Many just aren’t deep nor do they get it. Those accusing some of ignorance are even more ignorant and uneducated though they don’t know because they can buy tickets. Have you asked yourself why nobody comes as tourists to the beaches of Nigeria or Obudu cattle ranch etc while you are always the ones complaining about other people’s currency, airlines, treatment of your folks etc? Develop your country and stop equating few folks having money with exposure or education!

  13. At Anonymous 10:21, you've just exposed your ignorance as someone who probably has never hopped on a plane for national flights more less international flights.
    1. I have never flown Turkish Airlines but probably I might have to fly them soon due to unavoidable circumstances. When I checked their websites you come to the realisation that they do not care about their African routes. They use old airplanes on these routes and even in Business Class, the seats are not full reclining. Let's not even talk about delayed luggage!
    2. Your total flight time consist of the Actual hours in the air PLUS hours spent as Layover time. So yes, you could have a 40 hour flight.
    3. One time when I flew KLM Lagos-Amsterdam, we were served rice with cubes of fried plantain! And they also had African movies and music on board. Most airlines cater to the needs of the nationals of their destination country. It is just common sense and courtesy.
    4. Turkish Airlines behave this way because they are a member of the European Union so they can get away with misbehaving.

    2. The last time I went to Turkey, I used their airline. They kept begging me to eat till the plane landed but I kept refusing because I did not feel like I was missing out on anything. I sat down just reminiscing about a particular airline that was considerate enough to serve Nigerian jollof rice.

Because of the layover, I had an almost 30-hour flight.
Omotola is right - they lack inclusivity and I do not know why most people can't see that.

However, I did not encounter issues with my luggage.

      WOM.

I have written several comments/responses on this post but just read yours and wanted to add my few cents.

You see, the problem with some people who are so invested in this "soro soke", is that most of them are saying absolutely nothing.

      All noise and zero substance!

      It's becoming a national disgrace!
