This incident led to her resignation from the New Zealand Parliament.
In her public comments following the allegations, Ghahraman cited mental health concerns and stated that her actions were completely out of character.
She took full responsibility for her actions and expressed deep regret.
The allegations were first published on January 10,2024 and she was charged on January 17, 2024.

Thanks God she admitted and resigned. If na Nigeria the owner of the shops will be sued for defamation of character and closed down. They will deny it to high heavens! Office holders and politicians don't care if you like catch them red handed they will deny.
