This is nice of her to come to her defence
ReplyDeletePeople should let this woman rest. Even when you do your best, it won't please the world.
ReplyDeleteFunke may not be perfect, of course no one is, but to blame her for that actress' death is the height of it. And clueless Nigerians are busy blasting her and wishing her children death is the the peak of wickedness and an evil heart π€
Let Funke Akindele be!
Twins ♊ Squared.
May God give her strength to continue to grow and win.
ReplyDeleteThe truth is she cannot help all.
ReplyDeleteAnd Nigerians have a terrible, terrible, terrible, dirty nauseating poverty stricken entitlement mentality.
Just give one thing and they camp under your anus looking for every way to extract every last drop from you until you die.
In this life you just can't please everybody. Just satisfy your conscience.

DeleteI just feel so bad for Funke. This woman that has done everything to remain in her lane. It’s like there are some miserable people out there that are just waiting for the tiniest excuse, true or not to bring her down.
ReplyDeleteSomeone that has fought her own battles with no one standing up for her and she still didn’t come online to drag anyone.
Once someone dies in that industry, fools will start looking for who to blame for their death.
Someone tweeted RIP because ur sister died, you then decided to feed her to the wolves because she gave ur sister roles in a movie that sef was fully paid for.
Humans ehn. Tufia!
God bless you Eka, I don't know who are those Ill-advising that young man but he's probably just ruined his chances with Funke and any other celebrity in their right senses... His Sister was a cast who shot her scenes and got paid how is she funke's staff??? I feel really Bad for Funke especially since she has really paid her dues with sweat and blood.
DeleteMy dear Eka, it's really sad how people just throw blames at others when someone dies, especially in nollywood.
DeleteExactly she was paid for the service, Nigerians should start understanding nobody owes anybody. Funke should have just ignored them as usual it is well
DeleteThank you jare!. You saved me
DeleteLike seriously, I don't know who gave birth to these entitled people. How is Jumoke Funke's staff cos she starred in her series of how many years now? Most of the people she casted together with her on even not in the series again, so why the entitlement? Wicked boy and useless and heartless trolls
God bless you Eka.
DeleteSo nice of her to speak up. Well done!
ReplyDeleteNot really a fan of Nollywood but I really do not like the entitlement mentality of our people towards celebrities. Though some of them might be nasty piece of work (and that is a matter of opinion for people who are close to them , not the public), but do not expect them to be a continuous flow of money to sort out every problem. If your family cannot save you, why would you expect strangers to save you. And for people cursing Funke, back to senders with all your curses. She is just a hardworking lady, why involve her children ? Is she the cause of your wahala?
ReplyDeleteAs in. Your Papa no help, your Mama no help, your siblings nko, your relatives, friends, entire village community no help. It is your ex-employer who at some point gave you a job, who is not related to you in any way, that you are mad atπ
DeleteAnd please my comment is not against the late lady (may her soul rest), but Netizens. She is probably not in support of those captivating Funke on her behalf.
DeleteA person can be nice to you but mean and unjust to another person deserving of their kindness. If what Gistlover posted is true, Jenifa doesn't want certain people who work for her to get other acting gigs. If you try to get other acting gigs, you'll be blacklisted. Allegedly, that's late Jumoke's story.
ReplyDeleteShe said she reached out to someone who knew the deceased. Why didn't she call? She has Jumoke's number, allegedly.
Allegedly, allegedly! I guess that’s the only English you pick online. Jumoke is not a payroll staff, she’s called as needed. Funke said there hasn’t been new scenes on the series she’s featured in, she’s the one that determines who plays what role in her movie. If Funke doesn’t want her staff to work with other people, and that’s why Jumoke was blacklisted, then the other people she left Funke to work for should be the one getting the blame and the curses now not Funke. Radarada! Entitled bunch!
DeleteAll of you that read and listen to that tueh tueh blogger are part of this menace of entitlement. Mtcheewww.
DeleteIs Funke the first and only person Jumoke worked for? I've known her before Jenifa's diary and after the series I've seen her in some other movies or you want to be seeing her in every movies when she's not an A lister? How was she blacklisted please? Y'all should dead this una allegedly already, abeg abeg
Well done, Juliana. God will honour you too.
ReplyDeleteSome people have been running with the negative narrative that "how come a lot of people don't have good things to say about Funke?" for the longest. The people she has helped coming out to say it will kill such wicked talks. She is not the kind of person that will help and show it online, people should learn to understand that she's human too and owes them nada. Na wa!
LaFunky, God gat you and your family jare.

ReplyDeleteThey should let Funke breathe please
ReplyDeleteHonestly I hate some Nigerians and their shity entitlement mentality. So freaking annoying. As if they helped her make her money. So because she worked Funke, automatically she has become Funke's responsibility?

In this life just do you. Cos no matter what you do people will always talk. Thank God her people are coming to her defense.
ReplyDeleteI read somewhere that Funke does not free her workers to go work with another person and she pays them peanuts. So this Juliana, has she not been working with others?
ReplyDeleteThis Juliana, is she not the same person that castigated Jennifer a while back. She has begged Jennifer and got a role in her movie, all of a sudden Jennifer is now a messiah. I am not in support of this entitlement mentality but if it is true that Funke blacklists people, she needs to change. You can stop people from working on your projects but don't blacklist so that at least they can survive. Though I don't think she should be held responsible for what happened to Jumoke.
ReplyDeleteIf she blacklist people they've worked for her. Why didn't she blacklist Jide Awobona? I knew him through Jenifa's diary?
DeleteNicely written, Juliana. Nigerians and entitlement mentality are like rice and beans. Where were they when Funke was fighting her own battles?? Is Funke a messiah???
ReplyDeleteMost netizens are so fixated to find flaws in others' life because they need to feel better about what they are lacking or what they wish they could change. People really need to mind their own business instead of obsessing over someone else's business. The toxicity in our social space is quite appalling. Not nice to see at all. What does her kids have to do with her not rendering help? In fact, some people interactions online is borderline insanity. Arun opolo se won! π
Funke, what they meant for evil will turn around for your good. No evil will befall you and your household. Keep being on your lane.
Well done babe, you can't please everyone
ReplyDeleteSome people in need who come to beg people they assume have wealth don't really care about those people, but what they can get from them. Because begging in itself, while understandably desperate, is sometimes selfish. You haven't asked if the person is fine, had a good day, has something to spare at the moment or even prayed for the person. You are asking the person to set aside their own emotional and financial needs to attend to yours, and quickly too. Meanwhile the person has no legal obligation towards you - as long as the person is not your parent or spouse, or politician mandated to serve you, they are not indebted to you. So in begging, you must exercise patience, humility, gratitude for whatever you receive, and an openness of heart if the person says no. Anything other than that is selfish.
ReplyDeleteThat is why God will not answer your wicked prayers against those who did not help you or did not give enough (in your mind). Because he sees your own selfishness, self-righteousness and poor judgement. On the other hand he sees the sweat, tears and midnight toil of the other person, the number of times they have helped you and others, and the number of requests they receive from family, friends and strangers on a daily. He weights it on a scale and you come up short. Your 'stingy' uncle will become richer, and that celebrity will still have a best seller movie. They are using their talents as Jesus wants us to, go use yours. As Nigerians say, if e easy, run am. No single human being will meet your expectations and needs all the time, we are imperfect, just as you are too.
Please dont insult me oh !
ReplyDeleteMy own is, when you are blessed , please be a blessing unto others. If you tell a laborer to work for you, after paying them the wages for their labour if na food you get , give them. If you have extra clothing share . Life is not about money, money, money.
Humanity is completely gone these days because of money. Empathy is dead because of greed. Mere google search will tell you the lady is worth over 7.9 million dollars, thats a lot. A million or two naira will not make her poorer neither will a visit waste her time. She has a history of greed and selfishness and you can tell by her relationship with people . All the money she has cant be taken to heaven , neither will her fame grant her longevity. Be grateful for your blessings and show kindness by making others smile daily . May God be with us all.
You believe a Google blog that she had 8 million dollars - as factual? Those who destroyed education in Nigeria, they tried.
DeleteSo she is worth 7.9 mil... Meaning what???? She should empty and spend it all on charity???
DeleteDo you live with her to know how much she gives out??
So because she is worth that much she should not live or take care of herself and plan for her family again. Poster 12:43,you sound like one of the entitled people.
She is selfish and greedy on top her own money.
May God help us.
The truth is she owes nobone.
This is one of the entitled people we are talking about. The only thing ur boss owes you is ur complete salary. If they do extra, say thank you and if they don’t, face ur front. The fact that they don’t do extra doesn’t make them a bad person. They have where they do their charities also. You are not part of their charity doesn’t make them bad people
DeleteNetworth is not liquidity. Infact most rich people hardly have money, it stays reinvested and they take loans constantly. If not they go poor. When you hear Dangote is worth 15billion$, it doesn't mean he has that amount in the bank. It is the estimated value of his assets, or how much they believe someone who wants to buy the entire sum of his businesses will be willing to pay for it. Besides, isn't it so easy to be generous with other people's money and not with our own?π€
DeleteSo,she is meant to bless the whole world?
DeleteEntitlement with fine bara vibes. Google search said x so give y money.
DeleteYou are pretty of those who Mike Okri sang their praises as : Dodo ati rice KO gbodo koja won ma jeun jeun jeun won ma podo roboto.
Thank you for this
ReplyDeleteHonestly you can't please everyone in this life, no matter how hard you try they'll always find a fault...
ReplyDeleteI had to reread Chimamanda's essay (Chimamanda Adichie - It is obscene. A true reflection in three parts). Someone helps you, then you feel entitled to their help all day everyday regardless of change in relationship dynamics. This is someone that ran workshop for writers yearly for a decade yet it wasn't enough. Her own workshop graduates fought her online. Same thing Funke is going through. She gives you a role doesn't mean she will provide for you for life. Nope, that's wrong.

ReplyDeleteThis is why I can’t hire househelp in Nigeria
ReplyDeleteYou hire and then na you go pay pikin school fees. She wan Marry dem go call you. Her father die dem go call you
Abeg pass
Even the one that wants to buy sewing machine for his own wife will believe it is your responsibility and would be offended if you are not "nice" enough to be stupid. Apparently, when he went to get married and started breeding children, he didn't realise that the human being next to him would have needs.
DeleteWhen they are tired of milking you for repeated funerals, emergencies and all manner of "help" despite paying above market rate and adding a weekly stipend, they will go off to milk someone else without leaving week then you get a text off blessed Easter/ Kwanza/ Thursday and another request for assistance to add to those coming from your current staff.
I don't know y they are dragging only Funke...shebi d deceased lady also featured in Alakada..
ReplyDeleteY not drag Toyin Aimakhu too for not reaching out to her
Yeye people
ChardeyAlade
Great point she was also linked with Tunde Kelani. Why not query all her previous employers and colleagues who paid her like everyone else.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad someone spoke up for this woman. She has been through so much
ReplyDeleteAnon 12:29ππΎππΎππΎππΎππΎ Instead of directing their entitlement to their governors, local goverment chairmen & “special special assistant to special assistants”, they expect from others who are going through their own challenging times. Make demands on your governors, senators, reps & President who OWE you. It is pure wickedness and cowardice to display entitlement mentality towards a private citizen who may be going through their challenges.
ReplyDeleteOnly your parents owe you. Your siblings do not owe you unless they forcefully took your parents money and denied you of your education funding. Instead of Nigerians to camp in front of Dino Melaye’s parking garage (we don’t know what he does for a living), or camp in front of their governor or senator or rep or presidents abode or better still troll them with your demand on SM they harass friends & relatives. Everyone has their lives to live, that person you think is very rich has goals in life. Face your wicked politicians and corrupt civil servants. They took your share of the national cake that you are entitled to.
No evil will befall her and her children in Jesus name. As for blackballing, it needs to stop globally. Oprah is accused of doing the same but that is a different topic from entitlement of many Nigerians which is nauseating. They even defend their oppressors and expect those who earned money legit to spend on them! It’s bizarre.
Why are some Nigerians so entitled? It’s baffling. My siblings want a lavish funeral ceremony for my late parent in the village but apportioned me the highest levy! I’m not the first born, first girl but first to succeed and they slowed me down to build themselves up for decades in which I paid what would have allowed me retire by now. You don’t want a simple party yet you feel entitled to my funding an elaborate party that will be a show-off in a small town and be risky for me to travel to! Please can someone tell me if economically challenged people no longer bury their parents in the villages?
ReplyDeleteThe millions they talk of collecting for a 2- day event in a country where annual minimum wage is less than N600k is bizarre. Pay for the scale of party you want, they are upset. If I don’t show up due to the hatred and negative vibe they will say something else. Why are we like this? These are people who haven’t sent me a bowl of Garri in decades abroad but are professional takers! It’s not easy in any country but they assume some countries are closer to paradise! I am soo fed up with the entitled mentality of some Nigerians!
