CHRONICLE OF A MARRIED MAN

As a young bachelor, no woman slept over in my house till I got married.

The reason for this was an incident that happened in my compound when I was young.

This guy had a girlfriend that used to visit him from school. After vacation, she would come over to stay with him for a while before going to her family.
One day, we heard shouts from his apartment, the girl had died. He came back home from work and met her dead and shouted.

We later found out that she was asthmatic and had an attack when he was away.
Her family knew him as their daughter's boyfriend and also that she was asthmatic, so they just allowed him to sleep in the cell for a week and some days before prevailing on the police to let him go. He lost his job as a result.

Thinking about it, imagine if the girl's family were not Yorubas, like they were from the south south or some parts of the Eastern part of Nigeria. Uncle would have been forced to marry the corpse of that girl, sleep with her corpse in the same room , etc.
That incident put fear in me. No woman slept in my house till I got married.

Visit and go back to your house abeg.

  2. good choice but if the girl was his wife and he was away with her health condition same thing would have happened to her. I am not supporting sleeping over at his/her house before marriage.

  6. What a horrible way to die, grasping for air and can’t it and all alone. Some ways of passing over is just too much

Death can happen anywhere and at anytime and must happen to everyone.

  7. This same thing happened here in osogbo. The girl involved happened to be the niece of a very influential man, the guy dropped the corpse at their gate and flee, but the family knew she died as a result of asthma attack but he was arrested because of the way he dumped the corpse, I think he was sentenced to jail
