Late Singer Mohbad's Wife Wunmi Served Notice Of Pneding DNA Application

WOW!!!
A Magistrate Court sitting in the Ikorodu area of Lagos has ordered that singer late Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, be served notice of a pending DNA application, by substituted means.
Note that this comes after Mohbads fathers legal team had tried to serve her twice but failed.....

This was disclosed in a statement signed by Monisola Odumosu, a member of the legal team to the Aloba family,on Wednesday.
Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, in the application filed by the legal team, sought an order to serve Wunmi by posting all the originating processes and other processes in the suit on the last-known address of the respondent.
The statement revealed that the legal team had argued that the sheriff had attempted twice to serve Wunmi the court process but failed.

“If the process were served on the last known address of the respondent by Order of the court, it would constitute good service and she would be aware of the pending suit”.
The Chief Magistrate ordered that the respondent be served by posting a court process on her last known address.

    1. Why is she scared? If she has nothing to hide, she should go for it and clear her name.

    2. If she finally agrees to this, then let's see the results.
If the baby is indeed mohbad biological child, then I will hail her as a smart genz bcos she made full use of the publicity before dna test plus she is primed to make even more from the publicity after the successful test.

Or it can go another way.

My own is that this innocent baby be mentally healthy and just see his birth situation as a blessed destiny. Like Moses.

    3. 11:27, what is wrong in men demanding DNA testing?
It is not new. men are doing it everyday without the knowledge of their wives.
A very prominent man in Nigeria put in his Will read in 1990s as a condition for inheritance of his Estate. Then DNA was an exotic procedure this side. Today, it is a walk-in matter.

Why are some Nigerian women so against it despite their claimed wokeness.

Why not prove everyone wrong by doing it and have your peace young woman.

    2. She wont because its most likely that Mohbad isnt the father, or she isnt sure.

If I were to advice her, she should secretly do the test, if the paternity shows Mohbad isnt the father, she should secretly flee the country.

      Because....

    3. She may have secretly done it and could be avoiding it, I hope not. They allegedly tried to serve her court papers unsuccessfully. I wonder if notice on most popular online newspapers or blogs constitutes serving her at this rate because nobody can say they haven’t read this. For those asking for the reason for DNA, it will help rule her out as a suspect which means even his parents could still be suspects.

At least that’s how it’s done in the US. The spouse and close relatives are the primary suspects so if there is no MOTIVE of paternity fraud cover up, she has a better case. In every homicide non gang/non mass shooting investigation, detectives first look for a motive and the opportunity. She has opportunities as his wife like every wife and husband dies but does she have any motive?

Those against DNA should put emotion aside and watch a couple of murder investigations on Discovery, Oxygen and other channels. She called on the public for help but it’s not their business to ask that she does DNA? All those who were injured during the march for justice for him deserve to know. He became a public figure after his demise so the case like Laci Peterson’s murder, O.J Simpson’s wife’s murder has gone beyond their “family affair”. The optics of avoidance of DNA is puzzling. Is she not sure? Has she done it se Rey? You only need his old comb with about 10 strands of hair from the root but his body is still available! FBI will even use his old belongings which the dad in a bizzare way is wearing😳🤔😔As to its possible result alteration, go to reputable clinics, have witnesses to the sampling and labelling and tests and nobody dares alter any result. She can even do it in two reputable clinics with witnesses to the sample collections, labelling and tests. I just think like few young women, she is scared of the what ifs of life.

    4. Are you for real? What are you saying? She killed her husband after he performed at a show because the child is not his? Did the husband suspect paternity fraud? And if he did when? Was it that day he died he discovered it? and after his show she killed him? Public figure how? She asked for help from the public in a clear case of bullying and victimization so she now becomes a suspect? What emotions are you talking about? Na wa for human beings. Everybody will get what is coming for them. Tueehh. Nobody cares how the poor girl is coping taking care of a child alone without help from anywhere its DNA that's the problem. Public figure indeed. Must be Ment.

    5. Well said@14:54. Everybody around the dead man is a suspect. Especially after "they" turned the case to death by foul means.

  6. She has been the one tormenting herself. If she knows she is not guilty of anything, she would have just done the dna long ago and gotten on with a peaceful life. Wetin she dey hide

  7. There's more to this her case. Even if a child's deadbeat father ask for it, I'll do it for the sake of my child's future

  8. Her lawyers will oppose the case.
A senior lawyer's law firm once argued that their female client would only agree to DNA testing in the USA. Of course they lost at the Court of Appeal.

The woman here has been reading from the pages of the failed brief of that case. How did she see it? It is the same same over a simple matter.

  9. I really don't know how long we'll dwell on this matter. What's even the big deal in accepting a DNA test to be conducted on your child if your hands are clean? Odiegwu

Even some men are afraid of the test after investing real cash in and bonding with the child but not happy with the mother/wife.

    6. She owes the public that marched for justice the DNA. She owes lady justice the DNA. Many homicides are committed by spouses and we cannot say she is not a suspect. In the US they would have surreptitiously done it since before she can walk the streets free.

Youtube and Google will show you an alarming number of those killed by their own spouses so why are some acting naive? Even a pastor’s wife in Tennessee years back killed her husband and took the four kids away! I’m begining to think paternity fraud is truly common in today’s Nigeria with the sheer number of women opposed to a simple DNA test which for double certainty can be done in multiple locations. I wrote here before that Kobe Bryant was falsely accused of rape but for the testing of the underwear of his accuser that had slept with four, as in four men within the 24 hour period! How on earth does a non professional pr****** do four men in 24 hours? If it was not for 🇺🇸justice Late Kobe would never have become the NBA star he later became because of a liar. Anyone can ask me for the DnA of my children if I’m not paying. I dey kampe” because I know that I know that no other man did it. Any woman supporting this “don’t do dna” does not want justice for the late singer. Even the dad and mum will be suspects here with the way the one is wearing his clothes when he has a younger brother and all the bs going on as reported online!

  15. Strangely, it is settled law that the only person who can demand for a DNA test is only the father of a child (in this case, Mohbad himself ) and the child itself (Mohbad's son)
Where paternity is claimed by a 3rd party, the court could order a DNA test in the best interest of the child.

If Mohbad in his lifetime never questioned his son's paternity, no human being in this wide world can question that child's paternity. There is a presumption in law that a child born during the subsistence of a valid marriage,is the child of that marriage (that he belongs to the man and woman in that marriage). This presumption can only be displaced by the father of the child and NOT a third party.

    This is the law!!!!!

If she wants, she can choose to do the DNA, but if she doesn't, that Magistrate Court cannot compel her. Her father in law has no Locus to request a DNA test. This is a settled principle of law.

I'm also curious as to the nature of the case before the Magistrate Court and the basis upon which the Court issued that order. It doesn't appear to be anchored on law.

What I have stated above, is entirely different from my thoughts on this DNA saga shaaaaaa.

    1. "This presumption can only be displaced by the father of the child and NOT a third party."

      The presumption is rebuttable.
Until the child is 21 years old, any man can claim for a DNA testing of the child.
If the man fails, she sure has her right to damages.
Or have we not seen where two men squabbled over paternity of a child, and it was resolved by DNA testing.

For the sake of her child. She should shame the accusers and do it. So that her son's case would not be like that 50 years old man who somebody sued in court for an order compelling him to submit to DNA because the Claimant alleged he benched his mother 50 years ago. Yes, the Claimant failed and was well tongue lashed by the court. But does it ever end there? Especially if the man is a public figure? Or aspires to go into politics against a loaded scorch earth opponent?

You well know that since the days of the Merchant of Venice, life is not only about court and court judgments. That is why you think different from your learned writing.

  16. So, this is the Nigeria the loud majority wants: one were cross dressers are persecuted and widows and their infants tortured and harassed while the burial of their husbands are seen as a secondary matter. They have now made widow abuse official using the court system. Wonderful.

Whatever Nigerians claim they are going through , pity them minimally and just wish for God's will to be done. You cannot have a population this given to evil and they not suffer the same. No matter the price of rice, dollar, fuel or electricity tariff, they cannot experience any comfort, justice or peace that they have willfully withheld from others. Over the years, they have been chronically unsatisfied with the state of their lives with their best days always behind them because that is the energy they radiate.

None of the noise makers in the comments have made any tangible donation to this young widow. They are consumed by the constant hunger and desperation destined to consume them. Their entire focus is how to take and seize and not to offer any soft landing. It is when rogues are seeking donations of used tires to set people ablaze or razor blade to shave a widow's head in public or bowl to give her her husband's corpse bathwater to drink that we see a temporary surge in generosity that they hope to use to destroy a person.

Unfaithful men are left to mourn the women they betrayed in peace but you see the joy of an old man inheriting his son and pouring bile on a girl in her 20s that his own wife had to escape from and people who claim to be looking for God's mercy are cheering this on and actively participating.

Even when the test confirms the paternity of the child, will the stain of suspicion not still follow this innocent young lady from people with darkened hearts?

Imole, ma sun lorun. You see the torture your wife and child have been going through since the average Nigerian became the Naira marley and Sam Larry of their lives.

She asked for the court case. Let her go defend it. That is how the law advance and protect more people. More widows would be protected by her victory in court than your insults on Nigerians and lack of pity for them because all of them are not educated as you are or think as you do.

  17. No body can force her in this world to do DNA except for crime detention, except she doesn't know her right in Nigeria constitution. Her child was never under any dispute while the husband was alive. I don't see her comiting any crime other than her husband may have died under drug abuse recklessness.
