DeleteSo last week Thursday, a lady was reversing her car and she was on my lane, I kept honking, this lady kept coming back, until she hit my headlight and it shattered! She comes down and says a casual sorry (I’m like sorry for what? Madam we gotta fix this) Obviously I can’t tell her to get a new one (it’s expensive like crazy) I can only replace the face with a different material, so I call the guy who does it and he says it’s 13k, so I let the woman know (I even thought she would negotiate to pay half, but she acted like jagaban, like 13k is nothing, i kuku played along) Next thing she goes to a POS and hands over the cash to me, all of a sudden the pos guy starts to Para that why would I collect money from a woman, that it’s not even up to 13k to fix it blah blah, and I’m like, oh cuz she’s a lady, I can have unexpected expenses and she can’t? Errrrm why should that be? When did that mentality start in this country? SMH!

If you have a friend like that, treasure them and tell them you appreciate them.

DeleteWhen I was a teenager of about 17/18yrs, a young chap from our community came to live with us. He was doing a one-year professional program at our location and accomodations are very expensive in that area. So my father was helping him by accommodating him free of charge. He was staying in the BQ, but had open access into the main building to eat, hangout with us, etc.
ReplyDeleteThis guy started telling me that he likes me blah blah blah - that is he was "toasting me". I ignored him and he eventually stopped. I never told anyone about this. So there was no problem.
After reading yesterday's chronicle about the 12yr old who is not even a teenager yet, I feel the poster is making a mistake by keeping the boy in his house even after he admitted to it. I then thought to myself that if I had told my parents that that guy was toasting me back then; there is no way he would have continued staying with us. He never touched me oo. He only talked to me with his mouth. But I am sure that my parents would have kicked him out just for doing that.
Poster of yesterday's chronicle, I know dealing with relatives can be tricky but please please please look for a way to REMOVE that young man from your home. You can look for a face-me-I-face you single room and pay 2years rent for him, let him go there and stay. Such rooms are normally like 6k to 8k per month . By the time you calculate the amount of food he eats in your house presently, I believe it would be more than 8k per month. So why not use the money you would have used to feed him and get him another place away from your home, and keep your daughter (and her siblings) safe and happy at the same time.
This way relatives are not going to hold it against you because you have settled him and also got him accomodation that will last long enough (2yrs) for him to stand on his own.
Your daughter/children should always feel protected, loved and happy in your home. She/they shouldn't be sleeping with one eye open and looking over their shoulders inside their own parents' house.
Rent him a place with long enough duration and remove him from your home. This is my advice to you.

ReplyDeleteSo one of the dogs in our compound bit one of our neighbours last night. The dog was on its own oo barking where it was chained, the man went there to play with it and the dog bit him on his finger.
According to my husband blood was just gushing out and they had to quickly rush to a pharmacy at the junction. They cleaned up the wound and gave him an injection that cost 9k for one shot and he has taken it 4 times.
The man said he doesn't want his wife to know about it so she doesn't start blaming him that he will tell her he injured at work.
I have sha warned my kids to stay away from anything dog. I don't want stories
How can he hide it from his wife because of blames? How will his children or other people living with him in the house know that it is dangerous to go near it? That is not a wise idea. His ego would not allow him to tell his wife so that she will not blame him, as the almighty head of house that he is, thereby endangering other people in his life.

ReplyDeleteBefore Ezekiel 18:19 plays out in most people's life. They will have died or have had so much scars that dragged them to knowing their place in God. If you are a parent or parent to be. Please be intentional about your actions especially to other people's children because of your children's destiny/tomorrow.
So many of us are suffering from the mistakes of our parents/grandparents. In as much as you are defending/protecting your children. Don't do things that will make them carry generational scars that will limit their destiny. Scars that will push them from one MFM to another. Check all the well-known native doctors around you especially those who are known for evil. How far with their children?
Enquire of all the feared *hard**men in your locality. Those that did all sorts with charms, killing and tormenting anyone that stood on their way. How far with their children and grandchildren.
Fight for your children. Teach them to fight for themselves but don't put them into boundage by your actions.
God help all parents.
May God help every parent because parenting is not an easy task.

ReplyDeleteMy baby woke up this morning,touched his trouser and said,mummy I didn't wee wee,lol I just smiled and told him weldone,he is 4 and I have been trying to stop him from bed wetting,mothers in the house how did you stop your kids from wetting the bed??

In as much as parents try should their best, bedwetting also depends on other factors like the child's body system and brain. We should pray too.
DeleteBuy a potty as soon as the baby starts walking, teach him how to use it when wee or poo is coming. Also, start waking up at intervals in the night to take him to the potty to urinate. Most importantly, reduce liquids when it is evening time, liquids transform to urine.

I was still thinking of how to celebrate children's day for my kids since their school charged 5k ( only popcorn ) per child making 15k since Iam cutting my coat according to size, lol, after paying school fees of 3 kids, I felt that was too much since all they will be doing is face painting, dancing competition and balloon stuff for 4 hours, I planned I will take them out if what am expecting comes, coupled with the fact that most of the supermarkets I supplied have not remitted a Kobo, but the principal called me on Sunday morning, I didn't want to pick because I thought she wanted to ask why I didn't respond, unknown to me, one of the school committee chairman paid for all the remaining 20 children that didn't respond, I pray God makes us a blessing to others, it was liberating, because they have been disturbing me to know my plans for them.

ReplyDeleteSo my kids were disturbing me that what will I do for them on children's day. I told them I will take buy them a cone of ice cream each. My people, as i type this, they have already bathed and dressed up, waiting for me to take them out and buy ice cream. Something that I planned for evening time o.

DeleteLet me go and bath before they start crying on my head, I just pray the eatery closest to us has finished making their ice cream by this time, theirs is just #800 per cone, very affordable with a nice taste. I love it when I make a promise to them and I fulfill it, I do have this feeling of being responsible.
