Nigerian Oba Arrested In The US For COVID 19 Fraud Has Been Released On Bail
Oba Joseph Olugbenga Oloyede, the Apetu of Ipetumodu was recently released on bail by a U.S. court. He was arrested and indicted for his involvement in a fraudulent COVID-19 relief scheme, which allegedly swindled the U.S. government of $4.2 million. The court set his bail at $20,000.
The Judge also mandated the confiscation of his US and Nigerian passports while he awaits trial which could extend over several months.
