The Lagos State Special Offences Court found him and his co-defendant, Christian Taylor, guilty on a 57-count charge related to conspiracy, forgery, and fraudulent use of documents.
The case, prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), revealed that the defendants falsely claimed subsidy payments for importing millions of litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS). The court also ordered the forfeiture of assets and bank accounts linked to the fraudulent proceeds.
Justice Mojisola Dada, who presided over the case, emphasized that their actions undermined public confidence in Nigeria’s oil subsidy system. Arrest warrants were issued for two other suspects, Oluwaseun Ogunbambo and Olabisi Abdul-Afeez, who remain at large.
