The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced an immediate review of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) due to widespread complaints of technical malfunctions and mass failure. Over 1.5 million out of 1.9 million candidates scored below 200 marks, sparking outrage among candidates and parents.
Candidates claim issues such as system glitches, incomplete questions, and inconsistent question displays during the exam, with many taking to social media to express frustration. In response, JAMB is fast-tracking its post-examination review, collaborating with external experts to identify and resolve potential flaws.
The board may implement remedial measures if faults are confirmed. Meanwhile, aggrieved candidates are preparing to launch a class-action lawsuit against JAMB, citing system errors and lack of transparency. Despite the backlash, JAMB officials are defending the integrity of their Computer-Based Testing system.

However, an examination where about 1.6million people fail, clearly shows that this particular problem was from JAMB, not the students.

You don’t have to wear a lab coat to be impactful.You don’t need a stethoscope to matter.

If you’ve written JAMB three, four, five times trying to force a course that isn’t working…
Pause.
Breathe.
Switch,if your heart is convinced.
Switch without shame.
Some people are anointed for Education.

Some are solution-bringers in Agriculture, Industrial Chemistry, Linguistics, or even History.
Stop looking down on your course.
You admire Medicine.
You love the title “Doctor.

The day of this exam ,he can back and told me that this year exam is easier than d previous ones he saw. What the he'll. I wish I can punch them on the face.
