This post is very Interesting.........
She posted''Throw back to 4 years ago when I first froze my eggs.
Since egg freezing is trending again, I will share my experience about the process.
I knew pretty early on that I was unsure about kids. Most women always know when they want kids. For me having kids has always been 50/50. I don’t have the motherly instinct most women come with. I would live a very happy life without kids.
However, my Endo got to stage 4 at 26, I became alarmed at what my options were. So I started researching into egg freezing in grad school. I saw how expensive it was and realized I couldn’t afford it.
But my research also showed me that a few companies in America had fertility treatments as benefits. And from that point onwards in my career, I’ve never applied to any company without fertility benefits.
When I finished from grad school and moved to California, I signed up for the fertility benefits with my company. They offered $50K in total for egg feezing and IVF. Unfortunately the pandemic happened and I had to push it forward.
When I moved to Seattle for a new job, I immediately started researching again and took advantage of the benefits from my new company.
I didn’t pay a dime for my procedure. I froze my eggs at 28, we only got 5 viable eggs out of 15 retrieved.
My doctor advised I go do my endo surgery and come back again. I got Endo tissues removed from my ovaries and went back again at 31. And this time, we got 11 viable eggs frozen.
I still have thousands of dollars worth of egg freezing injections in my refrigerator in Seattle. I wanted to give it out last year but discovered it was actually illegal.
I took this picture the day my eggs were retrieved. I remember thinking , this is the ugliest I’ve ever been in my life. I was bloated, in pain from Endo and just wanted it over.
I believe in planning your life. And if you’ve followed me for a bit, you know I am a very structured person who plans her life to the T.
So while my eggs are frozen, I might never use it because the ROI on kids is negative for me right now. And if that changes, I move on to plan C.
If you are in your 20’s, structure and plan for the life you want and work backwards from that plan. You only have one life''.

The market rate for those medications are at least $15K. This is because my pharmacy sent me injections for 2 egg freezing cycles and I only ended up needing one cycle last year since we got enough eggs.

Everyone should do what works for them.
ReplyDeletePoint to note,
ReplyDeleteShe did has for free!
How many young ladies in Nigeria can afford that. I need people to be realistic when talking about things like this.
I hate that they are so out of reality when talking about these things
Exactly my point, how many young ladies can afford it. You just spoke my mind.
DeleteIt’s GREAT advice
DeleteMany families can afford it for their children but they’ve never heard of it. Many young ladies are doing well financially too. Not every time advice for the poor. Sometimes advice the rich his to spend their funds
Point to note,

If she dies before using the eggs ,what happens? Can the facility sell off the frozen eggs?
ReplyDeleteNo they don’t sell eggs
DeleteBut you do sign documents letting then know what to do with the eggs if you can’t use
You may agree to let them use for research or to destroy
It is well
ReplyDeleteHello iya Boys
This limit God's assistance in your life. He assumed you can help yourself so he doesn't step in.
ReplyDeleteThank God for those who can't afford it and there hope rely solely on God.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
DeleteGirl do you know how many testimonies in church are ivf babies. You better do what you can for yourself and stop putting too much in prayer
Hahahha, 14.27, no mind mama. She think say dem go come out dey shat "IVF"!
DeletePeople barely eat for this TPAIN economy JAGAJAGA...😤
ReplyDeleteWish I knew more about egg freezing and also had the financial capacity before I entered menopause at 36 without a man. Now, all I wish for is a man willing to go through this journey with me or someone who doesn't want kids or someone willing to go through IVF with me. God will always take charge cause I didn't do this to myself.
ReplyDeleteIf you can go thru Ivf with a man, why not freeze your eggs by yourself. Do you not have money for it?
DeleteI no longer have eggs as I'm now in menopause at 39 and haven't seen my period in 4 years. I was told by my doctor that IVF is the only option available and I don't have the funds.
DeleteThere are men who don’t want children, I know one looking for a woman who can’t have children
DeleteHad to come back to this post. Can you send a mail to Stella if you would like to link us up?
DeleteYou see how detailed she was with her process, that's how to pass an information because this info will help someone out there with limited options in finance and want to go on this journey. Not the rubbish Adedayo Naijagirl or whatever her name is dished out which was a mix of content and shade and ended the rubbish by saying she is going for dinner with her husband. You are giving out a sensitive information asking Nigerian ladies to go freeze their eggs knowing fully well an average Nigerian woman cannot afford the process and finance involved no form of assistance on education on other viable process to help on finance on how to go about egg freezing but all you could say way i am preparing for dinner with my husband in the video while passing an important an sensitive info. Husband you married at 45years few months ago. I always saw true that fake naijagirl for who she long ago not surprised she is already stylishly shading with husband tales all in the name of advise. For those that hasnot seen her for who she is just give her more time she will say worst as she is the female version of solomon buchi. Note i am married and and bellow 30 before you think i am bitter.
ReplyDeleteI get your point. I think she just tries to be funny but this was a sensitive topic and she should have been careful. But I don’t think she meant any harm tho
Delete13:36, I have the same feelings too
ReplyDeletePerson never see better food chop Na to freeze egg, hmmm.
ReplyDeleteBut there are rumours around that there is a black market for eggs in Nigeria where they pay young ladies very little for their eggs
ReplyDeleteTrue
