Special security forces yesterday landed in Benue State to battle terrorists and halt the spate of killings and other forms of violence across the local governments. The combined security team is made up of intelligence agencies, the police and the military. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu mandated them to take control of the security operations.


 Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Northeast have endorsed the retention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima on the party’s presidential ticket in 2027. Their adoption is contained in resolutions passed during the region’s Consultative Forum meeting in Gombe on Sunday.

 The Federal Government has begun negotiations with the United States for the procurement of 12 AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters to boost the capability of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF). NAF Spokesman, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame revealed this in a statement on Sunday.

 A church building has collapsed in Taraba State, injuring many worshippers. The church, UMCN church, is located behind Police Divisional office, in Mutum-Biyu town, the headquarters of Gassol Local Government Area of the State.

 Residents of Doka Avong in Kufana District of Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State have been thrown into panic following a violent attack by bandits in the early hours of Saturday, June 14, 2025, which resulted in the abduction of two persons. According to a formal report submitted to the Agom of Kufana Chiefdom, the attack occurred around 1am when a large group of gunmen stormed the residence of the Village Head of Doka Avong.

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced plans to begin a nationwide distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) and Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) starting from August 15. This was as fears of fuel scarcity mounted in Lagos and other parts of the country following the controversy surrounding the E-Call Up system of the Lagos State Government.

 A 25-year-old Nigerian woman, Ifeoluwa Akinwunmi, has been arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Wing of the Central Crime Branch in India for alleged drug trafficking. Akinwunmi, who reportedly works as a hairstylist and nail artist, claimed she had travelled to India to open a beauty salon.

  1. Just imagine 200 people wiped off the face of the earth like that! There is a genocide going on in the Middle belt and we carry on like it's nothing.
    It's crazy that this type of news has lost its shock value. By next week , all will be forgotten, and then the herdsmen will strike again.
    The Bible I know says that innocent blood cries out to heaven for vengeance.
    These herdsmen will soon contend with Jehovah himself, and their judgment will be very painful.
