My father wanted me to be in the medical field so badly.
His thoughts was that I'm intellectually sound and would scale through. And he was financially available at all times. Infact, I was the gateway for my siblings to get money from him whenever they wanted

  11. At every stage in my life I had a different dream of what I wanted to be.

5-7 years: I wanted to be selling condiments Maggi, curry, thyme, nutmeg , tin tomatoes and umuihe in aba market. Because I love the smell of curry.

8-10 years: I wanted to be a nurse because there was a newly wedded woman that was an auxiliary nurse that lived in our yard back then. After her honeymoon, she was on night shift, she wore her white, then covers it with blue apron. Her husband whom she called honey would escort her to the main road to take a taxi. I love the scenario and wanted her life.

11-18 years: I wanted to be a lawyer because my cousin who was a lawyer back then in the 90s looked so cute in the pictures (he wore a gown and a wig) he gave my parents. And I thought, this is so me in the future.

18-20 years: I was confuse. Com because my JAMB was withheld and I didn’t know what to do with myself so I thought becoming a custom officer is not a bad idea like my late second cousin who was so handsome in uniform and I thought I could be that as well. i went to Customs for enrolment into Nigeria customs. It wasn’t successful.

Then life happens and I read English. Graduated and wanted to work in the bank, because it was every girl’s dream in my time to be a banker, wear lovely suits, live in a luxury apartment and drive good car but it never happened.

    So I traveled abroad.
I wanted to become an espionage because I was intrigued with their job and also like living James Bond kind of life. But I didn’t even cross the first interview because they wanted a formidable and ruthless character.

I quietly went and read nursing and I am quite happy how life turned out for me.

  12. I wanted to also be an actress. I was in secondary school drama group and was always the best. So we formed a real drama group that was going to be aired in NTA Aba but it never saw the light of day.

I joined another group with my sister, we used to go for practice in judges’s park aba. That group produced “missing mask” “omenuko” and many others.
