 The national chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ralph Nwosu, on Wednesday stepped down and announced that former Senate President, David Mark, will be the interim national chairman. He also announced that former Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, will be the national secretary of the party.

 The Supreme Court has reserved judgment till a later date in the appeal filed in relation to the dispute over the last governorship election held in Edo State. After taking arguments from lawyers to parties on Wednesday, a five-member panel of the apex court, presided over by Justice Mohammed Garba, said the date for judgment would be communicated to them.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by its national coordinator, Gbenga Abiola, the group said the ADC’s revival was a desperate move by displaced political actors from both the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress, seeking to reclaim lost relevance.

 The House of Representatives, on Wednesday, declined consideration of second reading of a Senate bill to protest against what lawmakers described as the Red Chamber’s persistent failure to give concurrence to many House bills pending before it. The senate bill seeking to establish, was listed on the Order Paper for second reading, but rejected during plenary after many lawmakers argued that Senate rarely considers bills originating from the House.

 Jurors in the federal criminal trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs, on Wednesday found the hip-hop mogul guilty of two of the five counts filed against him, acquitting him of the other three. The 12-member panel acquitted Combs of racketeering and sex trafficking but found him guilty of prostitution-related offenses.

 The Federal Government says it has approved 37 new crude oil evacuation routes across the country as part of reforms to bolster production and curb theft. It also said the number of crude oil rigs has increased from eight in 2020 to 44. This was disclosed by the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, Gbenga Komolafe, while speaking at the 24th edition of the NOG Energy Week 2025, on Wednesday in Abuja.

 Property worth millions of naira were destroyed on Tuesday, as fire razed five shops out of 10 in Ibadan, Oyo State. The Chairman of the state Fire Service, Maroof Akinwande, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday, in Ibadan, the state capital, revealed that the incident occurred beside the Akin-Alamu building, Papa area in Alakia Isebo Road, Ibadan.

Bayo Onanuga, the spokesperson to President Bola Tinubu, has warned Nigerians against paying attention to the newly formed coalition against the current administration.
Onanuga, who has one or another to say about every member of the coalition, especially those joining from the All Progressives Congress, said that the likes of Abubakar Malami, Rotimi Amaechi, Hadi Sirika and Rauf Aregbesola have left the ruling party a time long ago.
