Pharmacists Raise Alarm That 50 Percent Of Drugs In Circulation In Nigeria Is Fake

Pharmacists under the platform of Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), have alerted Nigerians that about 50 per cent of drugs in circulation are fake and substandard drugs.

ACPN National Chairman, Pharmacist Ambrose Igwekamma Ezeh, made this declaration in a statement ahead of the 44th annual national conference of the association.

Ezeh maintained that the influx of fake drugs, foods and drinks had become a major source of worry in contemporary times in the country.

He lamented that as of now, over 50% of drugs that were in circulation across the country were fake and substandard.
He also explained that fake drugs have negative effects on the individuals, groups and the society at large.

  2. There are agencies responsible for monitoring the production and distribution of these drugs but they would rather connect bribe and turn a blind eye.
That's why I avoid taking drugs Unless it's absolutely necessary. Even supplements are not safe, imagine taking something to improve your health only to endp introducing harmful substances into your system. SMH.

    1. Whenever they lock down the erring shops/markets and sieze these drugs, it becomes a tribal issue. If you have any evidence of them taking bribe, tender it.
