UK Politician Kemi Badenoch's Eye Raising Comment On CNN

Must she always use Nigeria as an example when she talks?

The leader of the Conservative Party in the UK, Kemi Badenoch, has claimed that she cannot confer her Nigerian citizenship on her children because she is a woman.
‎‎She made the comments while comparing the immigration policies of Nigeria and Britain.

‎According to Badenoch, immigrants often exploit the British system in ways they would not dare attempt in their home countries.

‎To further buttress her point, Badenoch referenced her children’s inability to obtain Nigerian citizenship.
‎“It’s virtually impossible, for example, to get Nigerian citizenship. I have that citizenship by virtue of my parents, I can’t give it to my children because I’m a woman.
‎Yet loads of Nigerians come to the UK and stay for a relatively free period of time, acquire British citizenship. We need to stop being naive.” she said

Interview on Sunday with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria.

    2. 13:54,

You automatically assumed Kemi is right. She is 100% wrong!

Citizenship from parents is AUTOMATIC! Even more so when the female parent is Nigerian.

Knowledge and information is at your fingertips these days, all you need to do is ask .

  5. In as much as we all accept that Nigeria is bad, demarketing the country is not acceptable! Kemi Badenoch is demarketing herself and her entire generation. You don't sell your root cheap to outsiders and except people to treat you better! She should have just bleached her skin to white and then renounce Nigeria! Truth is, the REAL British people are Anglos, so when you see other race claiming to be British, it's just the benevolence of their government. Black roots are traced back to Africa! Kemi can proceed to sell her root cheap to the world, but it won't change the fact that white people no matter what(she say or do) will still see her as a Nigerian, African and Black! Former British Prime minister with Indian roots never castigated India during his time...

    1. It's not true. Children get automatic Nigeria citizenship from their parents regardless of gender. She lied.

  8. She's wrong.
But its unfair that a wife cannot confer citizenship on her husband but a man can.

    Ridiculous
