Nigeria Draws 1-1 With South Africa After Captain Ekong's Own Goal
When the match started South Africa's Bafana Bafana took the lead through William Troost-Ekong’s own goal, before Calvin Bassey headed in the equaliser before half-time.

I pray we qualify, cos it's a big disgrace for Nigeria not to participate in 2 straight world cup, for a country that has 2 current Africa footballers of the Year.

ReplyDeleteThis set of Eagles are not world cup materials, truth be told - very mediocre. No wonder most of them are playing in sub-standard leagues in the world - Scotland, Turkey, Greece, SA, etc. They obviously have more fighting spirit/allegiance to their clubs than the country. But big tournaments like the world cup propel their careers. People can say what they want - that the clubs pay their bills and Nigeria is uncaring. But see their colleagues in other countries - Senegal, Benin, Gabon, Ghana, etc. Football administration is same in sub-Saharan Africa - FA officials take care of themselves more than the players - same complaints in all the countries but their players are wise and know they have to play well for their own future gains. Abeg, let us allow the more dedicated players to go to the world cup. Very annoying!
