Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NiCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, jolted Nigerians with the revelation that approximately 7,000 Nigerian migrants are currently stranded in Libya.
Dabiri-Erewa made this known at the official launch of the International Organisation for Migration Strategic Plan for Nigeria from 2025 to 2027 in Abuja.
She was quoted to have lamented: “As we speak, 7,000 Nigerians are stranded in Libya. In 2025, people will still travel through the desert to die.”
She expressed concern over the continued trend of irregular migration by road through perilous routes.

Madam Abike, why won't they travel through the desert when you and your bosses have tortured them in Nigeria to the point that they prefer to die in the desert while trying to leave to seek a better life 🙄.
ReplyDeleteAnon, you are senseless! So migration started during this regime? Your lost Uncles and Aunties that left before Independence in 1960 and have not come home, were caused by Abike and her bosses, abi? Some of you lazy people will keep complaining about hardship behind your laptops or phones, with little or no effort to better your situation. Eternal complainants!
DeleteThey keep bringing them back in hundreds, yet people keep travelling through so many routes to punishment. God help us
ReplyDeleteWhy are they still doing these? People should stop

ReplyDeleteWhy travel to Libya in the first place?
ReplyDeleteI don't have pity for anyone that knows what's going on in Libya and still go there thinking his or her own case will be different.
ReplyDeleteI have someone that has gone to Moscow before for two years and was housemaid, she was owed six months salary, as in they stopped paying her salary after eighteen months of working with them and later came back to Nigeria with almost nothing, because she always sent 80% of the money to her husband in Nigeria to take care of her husband and kids.
She was planning to go to Bagdalesh and informed me that if I have 300k, I can go there for housemaid work, I told her, I can never go, I would rather find something else to do with my money if I have that kind of money, besides I can't do housemaid work especially in that part of the world.
7000 Nigerians that would have been contributing no theirs and families upliftment if they remain in their country are now languishing away in jails in country that 8s dark color individuals with passion.
