Professor Aliyu Abdu, a nephrologist at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital reveals
that between 2015 and 2020, about 651 kidneys were illegally harvested and transplanted in Nigeria. This fuelled a black market trade valued at over $41 billion worldwide.
