Sowore, along with 13 others—including Prince Emmanuel Kanu and lawyer Aloy Ejimakor—had met all bail conditions, which included ₦500,000 and two FCT based sureties with valid ID and tax clearance.
As his legal team finalized paperwork, police officers led by CSP Ilyasu Barau reportedly allegedly assaulted Sowore, punched him, and dragged him into a waiting van without presenting a remand order. Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with Sowore resisting the arrest and demanding legal justification.
He is expected to be arraigned on October 27, 2025 on fresh charges, reportedly linked to his public claim that President Bola Tinubu is a “criminal''
