Teejay's CORNER

Parenting is a huge responsibility which often comes with its own difficulties and challenges as well.

Giving birth and raising kids in today's world isn't something as easy as anyone can think of, it goes beyond mere watching kids grow into adulthood. Raising a child rightly has its own great benefits which every parents crave so much in life. Though parenting differs and I believe no parents would want to have a child grow up into waywardness or becoming irresponsible in life. But then, certain behavioural way of life from these children, plundered a good number of them into lifestyles that leaves so much to be desired.

Few days ago, I had just returned from an outing and discovered I had no bathing soap left. As I stepped out to pick up one, I passed through a curve path close to my house. I noticed two young boys seated on a pavement and a teenage girl standing, talking to them. Obviously the way she was smiling and responding to them showed she knew them. Though it was a bit dark and visibility wasn't that clear, I could still see them.

As I walked past, I overheard one of the boys said, '' come sit down for my leg na.'' From the voice, these are teenagers. On my way back as I got to that spot, I flashed my phone torch on them. What I saw was so shocking. The girl had her mouth on the boy's d#ck giving him a BJ.

Immediately my light flashed on them, she quickly removed her mouth and covered her face with both hands. The boys got up holding their short and hurriedly walked away. Where and how did they learn this from? This is why I will always kick against allowing teenagers the use of android phone.

The girl couldn't stand, she hid her face down. Immediately I put off my torchlight and told her to get up which she did. In a calm tone I began asking her some questions ranging from her name, tribe, where she lives and her age. Imagine she's just 13yrs and exposed to this kind of act. Who do we blame here? When I enquired further, I learnt it wasn't the first time she had done that. I asked if anyone has slept with her? She shouted, ''No, my mummy will kill me oo if she find out.''

''Do you know where those boys live?'' I asked her. She responded yes and said they're all attending the same school which I asked of the name and was told. It happens that the boys live a bit far off while the girl stays two street before mine. All in SS1 class and I believe will be in the same age bracket and range with her.

I said to her, ''I'm following you this night to see your parents and report you to them.'' She began to beg,
''Uncle pls my father will kill me.'''
''Uncle I won't do it again I swear.''

After some little advice, I threatened her if I ever see her again with those guys or anyone doing this nonsense again, I will not only flog them but visit their houses one after the other and report to their parents. Also, I'll visit their school and report as well. I told her henceforth, I'll begin to monitor her. She thanked me and promised she won't do that again. I let her go.

When I told someone about it the next day, the person blamed me for not taking her to the parents and report to them. The truth is that, how would I have kept my mouth narrating to the parents about what happened? Secondly, she asked for forgiveness, promising never to do that again. Should I have proceed even after the pleading? What if she denies it when we get there? Would the parents believe me?
May our children never bring us shame and disgrace in life.

You should have taken her to her parents so that they will know that she has been introduced into that World, you will never catch her again but she will never stop....Go and find her house and report secretly to her parents...They have to know...THEY MUST KNOW!!!

  1. It was a mistake on my part, I should have done so that night. Nevertheless, like you said, it's never too late.
