Abia State Governor Alex Otti Boosts NYSC Allowances By 1150%

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has raised NYSC allowances by 1150%, making his move one of the biggest allawee allowance in Nigeria....


Corps members will now receive ₦20,000 monthly from the state, with bonuses of ₦10,000 to ₦30,000 for those in government, teaching, or medical roles... 
This pushes the total earnings to as high as ₦127,000 when combined with federal earnings...

  10. This is the result of subsidy removal and floating the currency.

    More allocation is available to states to pay back debts, no need for the impoverishing ways and means option and more funds available for capital projects instead of the 97 percent debt servicing budget of previous governments.

    Hopefully, some governments will add something small for state retirees if possible. I feel for them since they are no longer able to work and are being paid agreed subsidy rates in post-subsidy times. When states like sokoto are sponsoring kewu teachers, you realize some people spend money to remain poor.
