Some yet-to-be-identified assailants attacked the convoy of a former governor of Anambra State, Chris Ngige, along the Nkpor–Nnobi Road in the Idemili North Local Government Area of the state. According to Ngige’s former media aide, Sir Fred Chukwuelobe, the former governor was not in the convoy at the time of the attack.


Bandits on Thursday morning invaded Gidan-Bijimi in Kawu ward of Bwari Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, abducting six young girls alongside a 16-year-old boy. It was gathered that the victims were in the community for the burial of a relative who died recently.

 The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, says no fewer than 11,566 police officers attached to Very Important Persons, VIPs have been withdrawn as directed by the President a few days ago.  Senator Ali Ndume, former Chief Whip of the Senate and representative of Borno South, says Nigeria could save billions of naira annually by adopting a part-time legislative system for federal lawmakers. In an interview on Thursday night, Ndume said the financial burden of maintaining the National Assembly in its current full-time structure is unsustainable, especially at a time the country is battling severe fiscal and security pressures.

 No fewer than 50 Nigerians have been arrested in one of India’s largest coordinated crackdowns on a transnational narcotics network. They are believed to be linked to a sprawling drug-distribution and hawala laundering syndicate spread across several major cities in India. According to a report on Thursday by NDTV, an Indian news agency, the operation was led by the Delhi Police in collaboration with the Telangana Police’s EAGLE unit.

 Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is safe and has left Guinea-Bissau following a military coup that toppled the country’s government, the Federal Government confirmed on Thursday. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, told journalists in Abuja that, “former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is very safe and out of Guinea-Bissau. He left on a special flight with members of his delegation, including Mohamed Chambas.”

 The Nigerian Air Force has approved the promotion of 57 senior officers to the ranks of Air Vice Marshal and Air Commodore. In a statement on Thursday, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the promotion released on November 27, 2025 included 27 officers elevated to the rank of Air Vice Marshal and 30 to the rank of Air Commodore.

Former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress, months after leaving the All Progressives Congress. It was gathered that the former governor registered with the ADC and collected his membership card at the party office in Unguwar Sarki Ward, Kaduna State.

 The National Working Committee of the African Democratic Congress has ratified the expulsion of Kogi federal lawmaker, Leke Abejide, endorsing an earlier decision taken by the state chapter over alleged serial acts of indiscipline. In a statement issued on Thursday by the National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC leadership reiterated its zero-tolerance policy on misconduct.

 The naira traded in a two-tier market on Thursday with the official Daily Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market, NFEM fixing hovering in the mid-N1,400s while the parallel, black-market dollar remained notably weaker at roughly N1,460–N1,465 to the dollar.

  1. See how information is getting passed to these bandits. They attacked the convoy expecting the former governor to be there. If I was a high profile person I would not trust anyone right now. You have to deal with decoys and have a plan a,b, and c to survive. Do not get locked into any patterned routine, sweep your vehicles daily, take different change of clothes everywhere including hats, sunglasses, even a wig and press on beard. Relocate your family to a safe house.
