He described their marriage as a testament to hearing and following God’s voice.
He made the revelation during a recent message.
He recounted that his wife had been on a month-long fast in her church with the theme “Two Is Better Than One.”
During that period, she felt a strong conviction that he was her husband but prayed for a clear confirmation.
“She told God, ‘This is my life. Give me something very substantive,’” he recalled.
On the final day of the fast, she attended a service and prayed that God would speak his name to her twice.
During the scripture reading from Isaiah 64, the officiating pastor unexpectedly said: “And Jesus saw Nathaniel standing under the fig tree.”
Startled by his mistake, the Pastor apologised and repeated the passage only to make the same slip again.
“That was the confirmation she needed,” Pastor Bassey explained. “That’s how we married by the voice of God.”
He urged believers to trust in divine guidance, quoting Psalm 119:105: “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

ReplyDeleteYou won't understand, it's not every one that can
DeleteI will share a Bible passage suitable for this here. Let me finish cooking .
DeleteOh wow, Our God works in mysterious ways.
ReplyDeleteYou can say that again
DeleteNo wonder He's called a mysterious God. May God continue to be in your union.
ReplyDeleteWow. God is awesome 🙌
ReplyDeleteAre they happy together? Yes.
ReplyDeleteAre they still married? Yes.
Do they compliment each other? Yes.
Has he complained about her? No.
Has she complained about him? No.
That's the evidence that there's peace in their home and they belong together.
How do you know?
DeleteDon't forget people only post what they want you to see .
Are you living with them to know all of these? No
DeleteI love how she preaches. Funny, understandable and always lively
ReplyDeleteGod knows how to do His thing in the lives of His children.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful love story 😍
ReplyDeleteGod is Great 🙏
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Mr And Mrs Bassey..
Hello iya Boys
Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI also met my husband in church. This year, he revealed that I had a star on my forehead that only him saw, that was how he knew I was the one. My marriage clocked eight years in June. Blessed with children of both gender. Halleluyah!
Nice
DeleteHmmmmmmmmmmmmm
ReplyDeleteyou thoughts dont even mean shit here...people like you will never get it
DeleteProverbs 18:22
ReplyDeleteHe who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the LORD.
It's good for a man to find a wife complements him and for the wife to see the qualities she wants in a husband so that when God confirms it to you, you will know by the 'PEACE in your heart'.
NOBODY should TELL YOU who to marry or that God /Holy Spirit told them a particular person is your wife or husband.
That actually was a lovely and spine tingling read. May they honour their union always and remember God in everything they do.
ReplyDeleteI have a similar experience. The Lord indeed directs the path of His children.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to them.
ReplyDeleteInasmuch as how they met was important. It is not what is keeping them together all these years. Benny Hinn had similar experience and the marriage still crashed. What makes people stay together is commitment and intentionality. These two drives on the wheels of knowledge.
ReplyDeleteI have never trusted Benny Hinn as authentic. But many ppl get lazy in marriage. They put all the work into securing the marriage and once they get it forget to water the garden, then they wonder how the earth is dry, everything died and nothing new can grow, even when they plant new seeds. If both of them put as much effort into their marriage as they put into getting each other almost no marriage would end in divorce.
Deletesome of you just like to run ahead of yourselves and argue everything...is there anywhere he said that is the only thing that keeps a marriage? any fool should know that even when God speaks and you do not continue to hear him it will fail....you people should learn to stay on a subject and learn
DeleteGod walks in a miraculous way
ReplyDeleteWOW
ReplyDeleteMay GOD continue to be in their home
You can never go wrong when God guides you👌
ReplyDeleteLovely testimony
ReplyDeleteBeautiful story, yes - but also one that should be read with an open mind.
ReplyDeleteFaith stories like this touch the heart because they echo the mystery of divine timing and conviction. Still, for every Nathaniel and his wife who heard God clearly, countless others claimed the same but ended in heartbreak. God speaks, no doubt, yet even divine direction doesn’t erase the need for wisdom, maturity, and emotional intelligence.
What keeps a marriage isn’t the thunder of revelation but the quiet consistency of love and character after the “confirmation” fades. Hearing God is one thing; staying godly in marriage is another.
So, yes, I believe God led him - but I also believe they’ve chosen to keep listening daily.
Very well said. Intentionality and character are very important. Even Pastor Nat said that God revealed to him that the day he cheats on her, it will be over for him. He knows what's at stake. They've had their fair share of trials and they have also weathered many storms.
DeleteMay God continue to head and bless their home.
ReplyDeleteRead Genesis 24 vs
ReplyDelete34 to67 to get the message proper.
Let me post some.
Genesis 24:34-48
34 So he said, “I am Abraham’s servant. 35 The Lord has blessed my master abundantly, and he has become wealthy. He has given him sheep and cattle, silver and gold, male and female servants, and camels and donkeys. 36 My master’s wife Sarah has borne him a son in her old age, and he has given him everything he owns. 37 And my master made me swear an oath, and said, ‘You must not get a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I live, 38 but go to my father’s family and to my own clan, and get a wife for my son.’
39 “Then I asked my master, ‘What if the woman will not come back with me?’
40 “He replied, ‘The Lord, before whom I have walked faithfully, will send his angel with you and make your journey a success, so that you can get a wife for my son from my own clan and from my father’s family. 41 You will be released from my oath if, when you go to my clan, they refuse to give her to you—then you will be released from my oath.’
42 “When I came to the spring today, I said, ‘Lord, God of my master Abraham, if you will, please grant success to the journey on which I have come. 43 See, I am standing beside this spring. If a young woman comes out to draw water and I say to her, “Please let me drink a little water from your jar,” 44 and if she says to me, “Drink, and I’ll draw water for your camels too,” let her be the one the Lord has chosen for my master’s son.’
45 “Before I finished praying in my heart, Rebekah came out, with her jar on her shoulder. She went down to the spring and drew water, and I said to her, ‘Please give me a drink.’
46 “She quickly lowered her jar from her shoulder and said, ‘Drink, and I’ll water your camels too.’ So I drank, and she watered the camels also.
If you are praying for a spouse, use this passage for prayers, pray the number of days you feel you can. don't ask me about myself o.
God is Awesome
