CHILDREN LEARN FROM EXAMPLE, NOT WORDS
“Children hear your words, but they follow your footsteps.”
Children may listen to what you say, but they believe what you do. You can preach kindness, honesty, and respect all day long, but if your actions say otherwise, your words lose meaning. Children remember what they see more than what they hear. That’s why wise parents live the lessons they want their children to learn.
The Bible says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6). This means training through example, not only instruction. Children copy how you handle anger, how you talk to others, how you react when things go wrong, and how you show love. If they see peace in you, they learn peace. If they see selfishness, they learn the same. You are their first teacher, even before school begins.
In daily life, small actions shape big lessons. When parents say “thank you,” children learn gratitude. When they keep promises, children learn integrity. When they apologize after a mistake, children learn humility. But when parents insult others, cheat, or ignore their responsibilities, children absorb those same patterns. Remember, what you do at home echoes in your child’s behavior outside the home.
In the end, your example is the most powerful lesson you’ll ever give. Talk less, act more. Let your children see patience, honesty, and love in your daily living. When you live what you teach, your children will grow wiser and kinder, even without many words. Be the kind of example you want your children to follow because your actions will shape the world they will create tomorrow.

Thanks guys for your warm advises towards me yesterday. To think he is my only sibling, we use to be really really close, I dont know what happened along the line, he started being really disrespectful towards our mum and I'll always try to make peace, it worked, but later he turned to me.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw that he was going mad few years ago I left home for over a year, I started receiving calls from neighbours that he is being violent towards our mum so I came back. I'm his elder sis. As at then, there was still an atom of respect or maybe because of the closeness we had but along the line he loosed it and the fight began. I dont usually back down but all I see is that he knows I cant handle him enough because of my situation and I have been extremely quiet because of peace to reign but he is veeeery shameless.
Shooter trust me, I have gone that route. Last December I went to report him to some soldiers they're my friends. He was badly beaten and locked up, although, the plans was not to beat him but he was so rude to them they lost their cool..
We have left cantonment, he knows I dont have the will to call them, that is why his misbehaviour is so intense.
If I leave home, what about my mum. That's where the problem is. He injured her yesterday, we had to leave the house, we are new here. I know nobody, never been to police station before. I dont know how things work there and I heard it is all about money money. I dont have.. even if I have, I dont want to go that route, it's draining. I just want to get a small place where he wouldn't know and pray for him from afar.

Motherhood is honestly sweet but not beans at all. The way it changes your whole life still amazes me , yet people act like it’s something “normal.”

ReplyDeleteHe is back after 5 years, although he takes care of his children and when asked what really went wrong, what did she do to deserve that level of maltreatment and he opened up for the first time that he cheated on her and he was pussy wiped because his wife was bad in bed(he got married to her as virgin )
Instead of him begging, apologising for his wrong, he doesnt want to talk about the past.he is asking to be intimate first before having the full conviction of coming back, that he needed to check if she is better now, this is a woman that hasn't healed from the betrayal.
She asked, if all the women he had slept with cant be his woman instead of coming back. As a matter of fact from investigation, this man remarried and it also packed up within three years with a child.
He never mentioned it, even when you tàlk about his exes, he turns it into a fight.
He keeps saying their is no good woman out there, I guess they cant tolerate is bad behaviour.
She told him she isn't a refuse dump, neither the one that can take nonsense or deal with all he did in past.

Reason is because it helps with solutions to real life problems. I make sure I read it every week.
For a column handled by a Bv, my favourite one is Madam Amebo's corner. The stories were helpful for us to learn about life
As for the worst column, thinking about it now, I realized that there's none that is bad. No worst or bad column for me. They all serve different purposes and are all useful.
