We may not really want to talk about this issue but the north that depends on the proceeds of crude oil sales from the Niger delta, has refused to be accountable for the gold, diamond, lithium and countless other minerals it sells on the black market. This illegal mining is the root of the banditry northern Nigeria is dealing with.
ReplyDeleteDog, i wish the northerners that you accuse of refusing accountability of these natural resources had access and benefitted from them. The way every Nigerian reads about them in the papers and online, is the way we all read them. Next time you talk don’t say northerners say political class in the country because it would shock you to realise that there are ppl from all parts of the country involved in the illegal mining in the North. Don’t forget, we have always had Minister of mining, last time i checked Mr Henry Alake isn’t a northerner, if at all ‘ONLY’ the northerners are benefitting, and have refused to allow accountability to the entire country, he would have voiced his concerns. Do your findings, how many northern Ministers’ of mining have we had?? That should tell you something about this country.
