The Carthage Eagles took the lead early with Ellyes Skhiri scoring in the 10th minute to make it 1-0 and Elias Achouri doubled the advantage with a goal in the 40th minute making it 2-0, followed by his second goal in the 64th minute to seal the win 3-0 but Uganda's Denis Omedi managed a late consolation goal in stoppage time at the 90 + 2 minutes to make the final score line 3-1.
