Egypt's Pharaohs Beat Nigeria's Super Eagles 2-1 In Pre-AFCON Friendly

Nigeria lost 2-1 to Egypt in their final pre-AFCON 2025 friendly in Cairo, with Mahmoud Saber and Mostafa Mohamed scoring for Egypt, while Chidozie Awaziem netted Nigeria’s only goal.


The Pharaohs were in control of the ball and this win ends years of not being able to beat Nigeria in a match .
AFCON 2025 kicks off Sunday, December 21, 2025 in Morocco and the game will feature 24 teams in a period of four weeks. 
Egypt is in Group B paired with South Africa, Angola and Zimbabwe while the Super Eagles is in Group C paired with Cameroon, Mali and DR Congo.
