INSIDE THE MIND OF A WOMAN GOING THROUGH MOTHERHOOD
The year is fast running to an end, and Christmas is in the air. Churches are holding Christmas carol services already. A lot of concerts, company awards and dinner, end of the year services are holding. It's hard not to get caught up in the excitement of it all. I love Christmas, it's extra special to me because my second was born on Christmas Eve.
One of the things I like to do this season is counting my blessings. I start from my first memory of God’s faithfulness, and I just spend every remaining day of the year thanking God. One of my blessings that I count is the gift of this blog, the community it provides, and, of course, the angel that God has used to bring us all together.
I remember when I just started reading the blog , my favourite posts then was and is the in-house news, labour room drama, and wedding night chronicles. I have learnt so much from in-house news, especially hacks, to make things easier. Shout out to all BVs who post their comments and all.
I am grateful for this wonderful platform to write. Writing is my safe space. I am grateful to you Stella for your kindness and generous heart to everyone around you. Your strength and resilience I have always admired.
To everyone who has read, related, and made comments about my posts. I am grateful, I see them, and they are encouraging, God bless you. May our mouths always be filled with rejoicing.

I know someone born on Christmas day but i never remember to call him to congratulate him..I hope i remember this year...happy birthday in advance to you boy.......

NOTORIOUS FOR JESUS
DISTANCE COULD MAKE GRIEF LESS PAINFUL.
A cousin that I grew up with, messaged me from the USA. He wanted me to do a job so we linked up. We haven't spoken in a long while, but the previous week, I spoke about him to my husband, how he lost his mother and sister within two years.
He rang me and I picked, expecting to see him sad, down trodden or even sunken but I was wrong. We never had a conversation in that direction, about what had happened to his loved ones here in Nigeria. He sounded very okay and sane.
That kinda gave me an insight into when I lost my mother and my older sibling was informed. She had moved to the UK two years prior. The following day she was already asking which account she would forward her own contribution for the burial.
I remember being mad at her for not grieving or wailing for at least a week. Didn't she even think our mum could miraculously wake again if she cried more?
At that point, I figured, it doesn't mean that she felt less pain, but distance made grief bearable.
Distance indeed makes grief bearable!

IF YOU HAVE A PHYSICAL LOCATION BUSINESS IN NIGERIA, DO THESE URGENTLY BEFORE STAFF FINISHES THAT BUSINESS
1. Display the business bank details boldly for customers to see
2. Set up automated receipting system that issues printed receipts to customers
3. If you run a fixed price business, display your prices for customers to see
4. Do not accept cash, use bank transfers and card payments. Ensure shop staff can see alerts instantly using different methods.
5. Use notices to tell customers to ask for their receipts. They should show it to the security on their way out
6. Perform daily End-of-day reconciliations - Bank, POS, Inventory and sales
7. Train staff, then write all the rules and get staff to read and sign before they resume. For example, "You must never give your personal account details to a customer" must be accepted and signed before resuming.

20 Little Things Couples Do That Turn Their Bedroom Cold
1. Going to Bed Angry
The Bible clearly warns us in Ephesians 4:26, “Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.”
Many couples sleep back-to-back, refusing to speak to each other after a quarrel. A bedroom that should be filled with warmth becomes icy because unresolved anger creates distance.
Even if you cannot resolve everything before bed, at least say a kind word, hold hands, or pray together.
2. Using the Bedroom as a War Room
Your bedroom should be a sanctuary, not a battlefield. When couples bring every argument, accusation, and interrogation into the bedroom, the space loses its warmth.
Let the bedroom be for peace, laughter, prayer, and intimacy, not for settling scores.
3. Neglecting Touch
Simple touches, holding hands, hugging, or rubbing shoulders, make a big difference. Many couples stop touching each other unless it is about sex, forgetting that affectionate touch is a love language.
Even when tired, give a warm hug before bed. It melts ice in the heart.
4. Bringing Phones to Bed
Scrolling endlessly while your spouse lies next to you can make them feel ignored. It communicates that your phone is more important than your partner.
Set a “no phone in bed” rule. Give each other undivided attention at bedtime. (This one i no gree, phones come with me....LOL)
5. Always Going to Bed Late Without Your Spouse
Some husbands or wives deliberately delay going to bed to avoid conversations or intimacy. Over time, this creates emotional and physical separation.
Try to go to bed together as often as possible. It strengthens connection. - I DISAGREE
6. Neglecting Prayer in the Bedroom
When couples stop praying together in their bedroom, the spiritual covering over their marriage weakens. Prayer binds hearts and builds intimacy.
Matthew 18:19 reminds us, “If two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.”
7. Sleeping in Different Rooms
While occasional separation may be necessary (e.g., health reasons), making it a habit to sleep apart builds walls instead of bridges.
Make your bedroom your united place of rest.
8. Ignoring Romance
When you stop saying “I love you,” stop complimenting each other, and stop flirting with each other, romance dies. The bedroom turns into just another room.
Whisper sweet words before you sleep. Romance is not childish, it is marriage glue.
9. Dirty Bedroom Environment
A cluttered, dirty, or smelly bedroom can kill desire. No one enjoys intimacy in an untidy environment.
Keep your room neat, fresh, and inviting. The atmosphere matters.
10. Neglecting Physical Appearance
Some spouses stop caring about how they look once they are married, even at bedtime. Wearing torn clothes or ignoring hygiene communicates neglect.
Look good for your spouse. Smell nice, dress decently, and be attractive.
11. Allowing Children to Take Over the Bedroom
When children permanently occupy the couple’s bedroom, it robs the marriage of privacy and intimacy.
Love your children, but guard your bedroom as a sacred space for two.
12. Silent Treatment
Silence can be louder than shouting. When couples refuse to talk, the bedroom becomes unbearably cold.
Even when hurt, choose gentle conversation over silence.
13. Neglecting Sxx
Sex is God’s gift to married couples, not a bargaining chip. When one partner withholds it without genuine reason, it creates distance.
Biblical reference: 1 Corinthians 7:5 says, “Do not deprive one another except perhaps by agreement for a limited time…”
14. Over-familiarity
When couples stop treating each other with honor, respect, or excitement, intimacy fades. Familiarity should not breed neglect.
Treat your spouse like they still matter, because they do.
15. Harboring Unforgiveness
A bedroom full of bitterness cannot be warm. Unforgiveness makes you avoid closeness, both emotionally and physically.
Release offenses quickly. Forgiveness is the oil of intimacy.
16. Financial Pressure Conversations at Bedtime
Talking about unpaid bills, debts, or stressful money matters at bedtime kills romance. It makes the atmosphere heavy.
Discuss finances earlier in the day. Let the bedroom remain a peaceful zone.
17. Comparing Your Spouse to Others
Comparisons are intimacy killers. Saying things like, “So-and-so’s husband does this…” or “So-and-so’s wife looks like this…” brings shame and rejection.
Celebrate your spouse’s uniqueness instead of comparing them.
18. Allowing TV to Compete With Intimacy
When the TV in the bedroom becomes the “third partner,” the couple suffers. Hours spent watching movies but not talking weakens the bond.
Turn off the TV sometimes and talk, laugh, or cuddle.
19. Failing to Say Goodnight Properly
It sounds simple, but going to bed without a kind word, kiss, or smile makes the bedroom cold.
End each day with tenderness, even after disagreements.
20. Lack of Gratitude
When a spouse feels unappreciated, their heart grows distant. Gratitude warms the heart and keeps love alive.
Before sleeping, say “thank you” for something your spouse did that day.

How Marriages Can Survive And Succeed
1. Communicate With Respect
Talk daily.
Share your fears.
Express your needs.
Respectfully disagree when necessary.
2. Prioritize Emotional Connection
Love needs feeding.
Give attention, affection, appreciation.
A partner who feels seen will stay committed.
3. Set Boundaries With External Influences
Not every advice should enter your marriage.
Learn to protect your home from outsiders, social media, and extended pressures.
4. Build Together Financially
Create a budget.
Plan together.
Save together.
Face challenges as a team, not as competitors.
5. Practice Trust, Honesty, and Accountability
Let your partner feel safe with you.
Be transparent with actions, finances, and intentions.
Conclusion
Marriage crashes when partners stop investing in each other.
It grows when couples choose love daily and not only on the wedding day, but every ordinary morning after.
Strong marriages are not found.
They are built.

I was reading that leech of a husband chronicle and I was maadd!
ReplyDeleteDo not burn his credentials et al and just move out or move him out of the house?
How then does he feel the impact of his crime if the woman lets him of the hook just like that?
That man husband might even put poison in her next food just to punish her for his shameless and selfish entitlement and move onto the next woman with same mentality and belief and even start tarnishing the wife's image.
If I talk now that woman should not settle for men that do not and cannot assist them financially during dating, they will call us gold diggers and entitlement mentality.
Honestly, I fear for that woman.
Good afternoon y'all

DeleteBaci, about aboniki, a friend always have 'sweetie' anytime she uses pad. One day, I saw her applying the balm to her pad and she said it calms the itching. Let me not lie, I tried it once and after dancing for some minutes, I loved the aftermath feeling.
DeleteMana Eziokwu ππ

DeleteAboniki calms itching ke? Shey na the same aboniki wey carry me enter hell and back yesterday abi na another type?
Wait! Did you just say you loved the aftermath? π³
Mmmmmh Abionah,...you too like play sha. you just dey whine me since morning.
Biko, Stop whining me..
Abi, To believe you no be my problem o, infact, before yesterday, I for believe you but since yesterday, everything don change. Nothing wey you fit tell me.
The question now be say, na Aboniki abi ROBB you dey talk about? Na two different things.
Hello Baci Baby π️π️
DeleteLovely hearts, good afternoon π
DeleteWhat will I gain by whinning you? Nothing. When I said she applied aboniki, I didnt mean she bathe herself with it. Just little on the pad and a little sting and then cooling effect follows suit.
DeleteJesus! Aboniki for where? V*j*y? Omo, una get mind o. What?? Una wan kill person. Abi no be Aboniki wey me I know? God abeg o. If you know how dey take avoid Aboniki. Hmm
Delete@Abionah
DeleteSo you are serious? π³
You make a compelling case; my perspective has shifted. You lost me for a second, but I've grasped the concept.
The differentiating factor is how they are applied right???..
To reiterate your point...
"Just little on the pad and a little sting and then cooling effect follows suit."
Unlike my generous slathering. This tips the scales and alters the entire dynamics.
Thank you sis.

DeleteSign-out is apt as usual. Maturity is also when you realize that their actions are a reflection of them, not you. It's when you choose peace over revenge and growth over grudges. Maturity is letting go of the need for justice and trusting that life has its own way of balancing things out.

I have 32 well set teeth and I'm not removing it for anything to replace it, I love braces but I'm not sure I will have it because according to dentists, braces are used to correct bad dentures, though some people use it for fashion which is unhealthy.
ReplyDeleteThe write up about business is so true and that's what I will do if God makes me a successful business owner, I may not have my own business yet, but I've seen a lot about what most of staff do to other people's businesses.
One more thing, make sure you have CCTV in your business places, and also make sure you always compensate your camera man, if it doesn't eradicate illegal activities totally, at least it will reduce.

ReplyDelete@How Marriages Can Survive And Succeed, is grounded and practical, but it touches only the surface. Marriage survives not because two people follow a checklist, but because they understand their own emotional wiring.
Communication, boundaries, and finances matter - yes - but the real work happens in how couples handle insecurity, ego, silence, and unresolved wounds. A strong marriage is less about rules and more about self-awareness, humility, mutual growth, and the daily choice to show up with honesty.
Merry Christmas everyone!
