The directive was issued by the Federal Ministry of Education on Sunday and signed by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Folasade Boriowo.
Boriowo explained that the decision was prompted by “growing concerns over the increasing incidence of examination malpractice, including the use of so-called special centres during external examinations.”
The statement added that such practices “undermine the integrity and credibility of Nigeria’s education system.”
According to the ministry, the directive will take effect from the 2026/2027 academic session. Admissions and transfers are now restricted to SS1 and SS2 classes.
The statement emphasised that, “Admission or transfer into SS3 will no longer be permitted under any circumstance.”

Perfect!
ReplyDeleteMiracle centres be producing candidates with straight As but can't spell their names correctly. Making those of with legit Bs and Cs look like olodos.
Will the schools especially private comply to this directives? How will they monitor them?
ReplyDeleteWhat if a parent moves from one end of the country to another due to work? Will the child be left behind because of this new law?
ReplyDeleteMaybe the student needs to repeat SS2.
DeleteParents in Nigeria don’t always put their children into any kind of consideration when they make life decisions and that needs to change. You want to move to but you don’t care about your kids education, their friends etc, you just think about how it benefits you
DeleteNigerian government is always making one size fit all decision
DeleteMy own family member transferred in Ss3 and has finished uni now
They just put in restrictions without any thought people’s lives
14:09 so when my fathers job transferred him he should have done what exactly? Do you think they ask you?
DeleteEven this same government transfers without option to reject. If you don’t want to move then you can leave the job
Nigerian Government should consider giving automatic admission next year to the victims their results were withheld and said to be under investigation for NOTHING and was released when they couldn't process their admissions. A lot made good results.
ReplyDelete#JAMBSINCOMPETENCE
Of course, take the easy way out like there are no parents transferring their kids to other schools for genuine reasons 🙄
ReplyDeleteNice One bur i doubt private schools will comply to this
ReplyDeleteSpecial centers will weep but I doubt if this new law will be obeyed by private schools especially, who will monitor the schools and make sure they comply?
ReplyDeleteThey that make the laws, break the laws themselves.
ReplyDeleteLaws is for the poor
DeleteThis law will not curb anything,it will only cost the students money, they will register in the school in SS2 and come back there during WAEC.
ReplyDeleteThis won't solve anything, just inconvenience people
