Community In Anambra State Disciplines Man ,Flogs His Sister And Fines His Mum For DV On His Wife

A viral video seen on social media shows a scene of traditional discipline in Ukpor, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State as members of the Umuada, the respected group of married daughters from the lineage publicly flogged a young woman accused of actively supporting and participating in the physical abuse of her brother's wife.

According to eyewitness report, brother allegedly repeatedly physically abused his wife , with his sister and their mother accomplices in the act and even joined in the assaults. 

The Community women called an emergency meeting at around 6 a.m. to address the matter. The accused young woman reportedly signed an undertaking promising to stop her involvement. 

Despite this, the Umuada proceeded with corporal punishment using canes to flog her in full view of the gathered community members.

 The intervention didn't stop there. The mother in law also faced a fine and a serious warning for her alleged role in biting and attacking her son's wife. The abusive husband himself was handed over to the men of the community for whatever further traditional measures they deemed appropriate.
