Abia State Governor Alex Otti politely declined a chieftaincy title offered by traditional rulers, and reiterated a pledge he made after his June 2023 inauguration not to accept any awards, honours, or chieftaincy titles while in office.
Otti who spoke at an event where the title was offered to him, thanked the monarchs for the gesture but said he must remain focused on governing and avoid any appearance of divided loyalties or conflicts of interest.
