Amandi, a former chairperson of the Enugu State Chapter of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, was picked up in September 2025. Investigators say he was allegedly hired by the suspected coup planners to act as a propagandist in a plot that included plans to assassinate top government officials.
Government sources previously revealed that the alleged conspirators targeted President Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, and others.
