The Court of Appeal in Ilorin on Friday, January 31, 2025, upheld the death sentences of the five men convicted for the April 5, 2018 Offa bank robbery, closing the door on their final legal challenge and affirming the Kwara State High Court’s earlier judgement.
In a unanimous decision witnessed by the state’s Director of Public Prosecution, Mohammed Akande, the three‑judge panel ruled that the appeals lacked merit and that the original convictions and sentences ,delivered by the High Court in 2022 would stand.
