Bayelsa State Gov Diri’s COS Akpe Emerges Deputy Governor

The appointment of Peter Akpe as the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa state, has been approved by the Bayelsa State House of Assembly during plenary on Tuesday February 24, 2026..

The appointment comes after the death of Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, who was Deputy gov until he slumped and died in December 2025
Ewhrudjakpo was buried on January 30, 2026, in his hometown, Ofoni, Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
