Chinese EX Justice Minister Sentenced To Life Imprisonment For Corruption

China’s former Justice minister Tang Yijun aged 64 years was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Xiamen Intermediate People’s Court after being found guilty of accepting bribes totaling about 137 million yuan (roughly $20 million) and abusing his official positions between 2006 and 2022....


The court also deprived him of political rights for life, and ordered confiscation of his personal property.
He was also expelled from the Chinese Communist Party after internal disciplinary probes, with state media framing the case as part of President Xi Jinping’s long‑running anti‑corruption campaign that has targeted senior officials and may prompt internal reviews in judicial and provincial administrations where Tang served....
