The action was carried out under Operation Flush Out Cultists and Kidnappers, a special security team led by the Principal Security Officer to the Governor.
During the raid, two suspected Aye members were arrested at the property, while five others escaped and are now wanted.
The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Patrick Ebojele, confirmed the operation and said the demolition followed intelligence reports tying the building to cult‑related crimes that have claimed lives in Benin City this year.
Edo State’s anti‑cultism law empowers the government to pull down any property used for cult activities as part of its strategy to curb the violence.
