It described how the woman, called Laura in the report, was contacted online about a big humanitarian investment. The messages turned romantic, and she later sent money for supposed projects and meetings. Investigators traced the scheme back to Nigeria after some people involved in the scam shared details.
He says the story is completely false. He calls it a planned effort to hurt his name and business. In his recent statements and video talking to the press, he insists he has never done fraud, impersonated anyone, or run a romance scam. He says he is ready to work with the police and prove his innocence.

The Nigerian police alleged they have started their investigations and are looking into the matter following the documentary. No charges have been filed against him yet.
