He was arrested on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the arrival hall of Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos. He had just arrived on a South African Airways flight from Brazil, with a stop in Johannesburg.
NDLEA officers acted on reliable intelligence and stopped him during passenger screening. After a thorough body search, they found three large parcels of a white powdery substance. Tests confirmed it was cocaine. One parcel was wrapped around his right thigh, and the other two were hidden in the soles of his shoes. The total weight came to 1.60 kilograms.
Onyekwere, who has lived in São Paulo, Brazil since 2008 and sells toys there, told the officers he brought the drugs to sell in Nigeria and needed the money to support his business and pay for his newborn child's naming ceremony.

ReplyDeleteTrying to impress people that would just eat, drink and go
ReplyDeleteNo be small thing. People that literally don't care.
DeleteThe most mumuest man ever liveth, he didn't even want to use it's procedure for better things other than naming ceremony that people will eat and leave.
ReplyDelete*it's proceeds*
DeleteI just don’t believe this. If money didn’t see you in life up to 47 years, it’s now you going to do the abominable for naming ceremony. I believe that those around you already know your circumstances and nobody would expect any grand affair, they already know you don’t have it, so who were you to impress?
ReplyDeleteImagine putting your family in greater needs because of dumb choices. Children without their father around them.
See talk
ReplyDeleteBaby dedication thing, don't worry your baby will be waiting for you at home after serving your jail term. SMH.
