Deleted photos are initially moved to a "Recently Deleted" or "Trash" folder within the gallery or file manager app, where they remain for 30 days (or sometimes 60) before being permanently removed. During this period, the files are technically still on the phone's storage, just marked as inactive, which allows for easy recovery.
DeleteAfter the 30-day window, the data is marked as available for storage, making it invisible to the system and eventually overwritten by new files.

That's why it's advised to remove someone's name from contact list before you screenshot chats then re-add them to the group. That way you get the original name.
