The issue began on February 17, 2026, when David shared his thoughts on WhatsApp about the trending “Mirabel issue.” Adeife reacted strongly, confronted him privately, then went public with the accusation across social media and group chats. She also circulated his phone number, which led to a wave of abusive calls and messages.
David immediately denied the claims, and the university launched an internal investigation through its Senate committee.
Adeife was unable to provide any evidence, and eventually released a video apology admitting the accusation was false, saying she acted “in the heat of the moment,”
She confirmed that David is not a grapist. She apologized directly to him. Despite this, David says the damage to his reputation, emotional wellbeing, and opportunities has already been done.
Through his lawyers at K.C. Anekwe & Associates, he issued a formal letter dated February 22, 2026, demanding ₦15 million in damages, a full written apology and retraction posted publicly on all platforms where the false claims spread, immediate removal of all defamatory posts, and a written undertaking that she will never repeat such allegations.
Adeife has 14 days to comply or face a full court case.
He should get to the end with the court case
ReplyDeleteI support this.
DeleteRon.
Serves her right. Her apology means nothing, it didn't even sound genuine. When you accuse falsely, then be ready to receive what comes to you.
ReplyDeleteHe should make sure he deal with her very well, what if he did not survive it nko will this her yeye apology fix it. . nothing hurts more than false accusations
ReplyDeleteVery good.Hopefully she's taught a lesson.
ReplyDeleteMany lives have been ruined because of this sort of false accusation.
Hmmm
ReplyDeleteUntil there is a serious jail time for force allegations, they won't stop
ReplyDeleteWay to go.
ReplyDeleteShe should be stoned to death.
She is from the same poisonous fruit as Simi, the first to accuse others, yet guilty of the very same camouflaged / performative activism.
Good one. He should see to the end of it.
ReplyDeleteVery good move, David. She will learn. I hate this kind of thing
ReplyDeleteVery good, this is how it should be.He should pursue it to the end
ReplyDeleteI love this. Every accuser should have their evidence or face the consequences
ReplyDeleteNgwanu she has gotten what she has been seeking for
ReplyDeleteGbam
ReplyDeleteNice one! Grape false accusers should suffer same fate as grapist! 🙄🙄
ReplyDeleteHe should this to an end. Some people need to learn lesson to caution their mouths and hands.
ReplyDeleteshe should face the music, she should learn her lessons in a hard way.
ReplyDeleteAny allegation of r*pe is not just casual speech. It carries legal, social, and permanent reputational weight. Once made publicly, especially within a community like OAU, the damage spreads faster than any correction can. And no matter the retraction, many will still go with the lie. And those who will not be aware of the retraction.
ReplyDeleteIf the accusation was false and later admitted as such, as it is, the issue shifts from outrage to accountability. Acting "in the heat of the moment" explains emotion, not conduct. Publicly naming someone a r*pist without evidence is defamation. Circulating his number amplified harm. An apology, while necessary, does not automatically repair reputational injury.
At the same time, responses must remain proportionate. False allegations are serious, but so is the wider climate in which genuine victims already struggle to be believed. Reckless claims weaken legitimate advocacy and create distrust.
His legal action is a structured, lawful route. It signals that words have consequences. The appropriate response now is due process. If damages are proven, compensation and formal retraction are reasonable remedies.
The lesson is simple and firm: allegations of criminal conduct require evidence and restraint. Public accusation is not a tool for emotional reaction. It is a legal act with lasting consequences that apology and retraction cannot heal.
Well done, Adeife. She should face the consequences, sorry will do nothing!
