The attackers, many riding on motorcycles, stormed the busy community around 7:30–8:00 p.m., opened fire on passersby and roadside traders, and fled before security forces arrived.
Initial police report put the death toll at 14, but subsequent recoveries by residents pushed the number to 28, with many others injured .
Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos, bodies on the ground, and a painfully slow security response.
The Plateau State Government immediately imposed a 48‑hour curfew across Jos North, condemning the incident as “barbaric and unprovoked” and promising to hunt down the perpetrators.
Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) decried the killings as unacceptable and warned that Nigerians no longer feel safe even on sacred days; and a U.S. Congressman warned of “significant consequences” for Nigeria if authorities fail to curb recurring attacks on Christian communities. Security agencies have since deployed additional personnel, launched joint operations, and appealed for public cooperation as investigations continue, while residents remain in shock, mourning loved ones and demanding lasting protection from the relentless violence.

This is really sad. This govt is f**ked up🤬. May their souls find rest.

Government must go beyond curfews and actually address the root causes of these attacks, not just statements everytime tragedy strikes. The boldness of these attackers shows something is seriously wrong with our security system.
ReplyDeletePeople are now afraid to go about their normal activities. God! May their souls rest in peace

ReplyDeleteNIGERIA!!!
Terrorism, religion etc are political weapons. In all these years are our leaders saying they dont know the faces and forces behind these evil? They even send warning ahead and execute with a clear message left behind- "Palm Sunday." No state, community, family or individual is safe as long as we all are mute and afraid, they will surely overtake and overrun every state, community and land while those who ought to know better keep a straight face thinking they and their children are safe. Jos has been boiling and burning since 2008; Borno, Niger, Adamawa, Ondo, Benue, Edo, Kwara and the south-east have tasted the venom yet " SILENCE AND SHUT UP" is the watch word. One day, one day, these bought and pain merchants of death will turn on ...and that day, the faces behind the masks shall be revealed. We are talking of HUMAN BEINGS, HUMAN BLOOD!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThis is so so sad. our government need to take drastic steps to curb this wickedness! It's getting too much and we are talking of human lives that are sacred not that of animals!
ReplyDeleteThe wickedness of our leaders is appalling! All they're after is power and their pockets 😡
ReplyDeleteThis is so sad and terrible. We are tired. Lord have mercy.
