 Former Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Tambuwal, who currently represents Sokoto South in the Senate, conveyed his decision in a letter dated March 11, addressed to the PDP ward chairman in Tambuwal/Shinfiri ward.
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives cited the lingering internal crisis and divisions within the party as the reason for his exit.


President Volodymyr Zelensky has recalled his warning to President Donald Trump regarding World War 3, suggesting he wasn’t taken seriously after the comment.

“I said that we would have World War III. The President (Trump) didn’t hear me…him with his guys,” Zelensky said in a televised interview on Wednesday.

“I’m not sure they (the United States) can estimate that Russia will support Iran with weapons, drones, and missiles. And—100 percent—it’s helping now with air defense.”

The Senate on Wednesday screened Taiwo Oyedele for the position of Minister of State for Finance following his nomination by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The screening came after the president wrote to the upper legislative chamber requesting confirmation of Oyedele to replace Doris Uzoka-Anite in the role.

 President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated former Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Lamido Abubakar Yuguda, as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, subject to confirmation by the Senate. The nomination, announced in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, is in accordance with Section 8(1) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007.

 Three Senators on Wednesday dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. They are: Senators Amos Yohanna (Adamawa North), Aminu Iyal Abbas (Adamawa Central and Senator Ikra Aliyu Bilbis (Zamfara North).

 The Federal High Court in Abuja, on Wednesday, adjourned a fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by former Gov. Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State against the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission and four others until March 25 for hearing. Justice Joyce Abdulmalik adjourned the case to allow parties in the suit to regularise their processes.

 The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, on Wednesday reduced its petrol price following Dangote Refinery’s announcement of a gantry price cut. It was observed that NNPCL filling stations in Abuja and environs lowered their fuel pump price to N1,165 per liter on Wednesday, down from N1,260 per liter on Tuesday.

. Naira appreciated further at the official market on Wednesday, trading at N1,376.19 to the United States dollar, according to data released by the Central Bank of Nigeria. Data on the CBN’s website showed the Naira gained N25.20 against the dollar at the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market. The gain represents a 1.8 per cent appreciation compared with Tuesday’s closing rate of N1,401.40 to the dollar at the same market.

  2. Russian, China and Iran are enemies of USA. So it's a case of the enemy of my enemy is my friend. They're bonded by common goals.

    If APC leaves government today, I hope those new members will still be there for the next 8 years without porting back to their previous parties.
